That's just weird, and quite disappointing. Schleck did not even try at the end there, and the race is thrown away...

It is really interesting to see the way that the leader's jersey doesn't have the same effect as it did in previous editions, which I have to say makes things less predictable and thus far more exciting.

Both Spilak and Andy attacked too much during the stage and didn't have energy at the end. Pretty understandable for me, it's not like 85 gives unlimited energy to the riders. Obviously disappointing for both managers, especially as Andy didn't need to attack.
Awesome win by Dan.

Sella might not be getting the best results, but he's giving the viewers a great show. Just for that I feel it was worth getting him

Hmm, this is way better from Velits, but if Dan Martin could win this, he could as well... Rujano doing almost nothing once again, I hoped he could paced Velits at least a little bit. Nice effort by Vysna though.

Surprising win by Martin! Makes me hope Keinath could do better than what he has been in this race. After all he's quite similar of build to Dan Martin.

Not the best stage. Van der Velde out of the top 20, but at least Brambilla is still in the top 10.

I was rather shocked to see Spilak so far down the ranks in that stage, maybe daily form is more important in PCM13

Great couple of stages. Both very well reported and highly contested. Bad luck for Festina and Vesuvio's managers with the way this went on. Especially Schleck wasting all of his energy so early on, despite interesting, was very awkward and unrealistic to me.
Good to see Fothen faring so well though. I didn't believe he had it in him to make back the time lost in the first half of the race but his smarts prevailed in the last kilometers of each stage.

I was really scratching my head on that last climb, bar Sicard no one attacked from that lead group at all between about 8km to go and 1.5km to go until late on in a Purito style. It was not windy or had not been particularly tough. That said the stage before really was a hard one I guess the riders are all suffering.
the control riders by the way are really on bad recovery, I do think recovery is more important which can be a bit random when guys lose that.
I don't really understand the AI there at all, Schleck did not seem to want to rely on strong teammates Shikai and Suaza?
Martin is clearly a dangerous rider on this parcours, with the two hard hilly stages first certainly suiting him. still very surprising to see a MO 81 in a position to win the Paris Nice.

Ouch.
A flat rated stage where my GC rider losing almost 5min!
Also I had hoped more by Krieger here to be honest.
So only 20th in GC now which is too less and a 4th by strong Villella today. Well done at least. |

Some sort of salvation of the amount of points lost. I hope Spilak can somehow climb to 4th, but it has still been a horrible race.

Flat stages in PCM 13 look to be somewhat of a killer. Brutal stuff where the sprinters end up not being strong enough at the end of relatively easy stages.
And that was the first disappointing stage for us, having no one in the peloton
Thanks for the reporting, Smowz. Looking forward to see how the GC plays out on Col d'Eze. |

That's a real shame, my support GC riders all getting dropped, I was really enjoying having them 21st, 25th and 26th - but not so high anymore

That's a real shame, my actual GC riders all getting dropped, I was really enjoying having them "somewhere near the Top 20" - but not so high anymore

That is what you get for praising PCM AI boys, it had to strike back in well known fashion.

No praising.
But both 12 and 13 have good and bad things.
In total I like the change to 13 even when I get hit by it sometimes. I also got hit by 12 before.
I fear that I will lose the top20 in the mountain itt unfortunately though... Not being a good omen for 2 GTs. |
