Cio: Does Demare require training (paid) to get him to Ponzi's level, or does he scarily become that good naturally?

He will max out at 77 hill, 80 sprint or 80/77.
If such a combination stays as deadly as it is now throughout the next few PCM editions, that's definitely not where he will stop though.

Haven't really been able to keep up with the pace of the reports, but it's great to see these coming so fast actually.
Good to see Avelino taking us out of the anonymity here. It's a shame Ponzi wasn't on the same page with our plan.

Ponzi's been incredible so far.
On my end, Van Garderen has been doing ok, and Summerhill is still in strong position for the KOM. Seeing Ben King have a good result is encouraging, maybe i'll train him to become a solid sprinter over time.

Pretty la la stage for my team.
Ballan finally goes into the breakway. And first attempt this season ends with a 2nd stage result, which shows, that the team should try more often. Best stage result of the season so far and 3rd podium here in Tirreno for me.
Bad though that Guardini got injured and had to abandon I lose the finishing points this way.
And even worse that neither Boom nor Roux did attack today. So they lost too much time on other riders to improve a lot tomorrow. And falling back behind Krizek is also not nice.
Still 2 in the top 20.
Schleck showing weakness today as well, while Ponzi has lost time on Cunego. |

I sure know how to pick them. All season I have been getting shit stage results, and very very little points. Ricco not getting anything from this race but a semidecent GC result, but that is not going to give any points because he always keeps out of contention for the stage. Only Spilak and a 3rd place in Paris-Nice have been somewhat interesting. My flat setup doesn't work, my TTT setup doesn't work, my hilly setup doesn't work. Let's hope the mountains work.

Uh oh. A glimmer of trouble there, and with the super hard next stage, I could lose it on the last swan song.
That'd be a pity, but Cunego always shows class as the race gets longer.

Ginanni again pretty invisible, luckily he was able to join decisive attack. Still improving up to 11th place is very far from satisfaction.
Cunego will destroy Ponzi in last stage, I guess.

Krizek!
Not sure I can count this as Magna's first ever PT stage win considering the jersey he is currently wearing, but certainly a pleasing result for us.
Great reports so far fjhoekie. Been enjoying them (and this result only adds to the enjoyment)

I guess the lack of attacks is down to Boasson Hagen's recovery stat, which makes me worry about the final stage. It would be great if he could stay on the podium, but I fear both Bakelants and Schleck.
Brilliant from Cunego, he just grows stronger and stronger during races like this, and it should be close between him and Ponzi, with everything depending on Cunego being able to gap him another time or not. |

Cunego just never goes away in the Man Game.
Strong ride from Van Garderen to move up, and Summerhill providing a good point haul from the KOM and a solid stage result as well.

Krizek A happy day for both VolksWagen and Magna-Ryanair. I hope this will be motivation for the rest of the team

Cancellara gets in break wow - I do like that this edition of pcm selects breakaway guys who are pretty strong which you get more often in real life I think.
I thought he might get the win at the end but still you have to take a 3rd place in another exciting hilly stage.
Damn seeing Schleck lose time is blow for old timers like me - say it aint so your still the best Frankie

Damn. Out of the fight for the win due to timing of attack, that shouldn't have happened!

Nice win for VW indeed, really strong group that escaped early and capitalized with a win.
Cunego is still a monster, i fear that he can destroy Ponzi in last stage, but Good Energy is having a big success already, so 2nd would not be disaster i think.

Wow, not that Cunego was not hunting Ponzi, it was other way around and Cunego lost a place in GC! Perfect win for Good Energy, with huge point haul, big congrats to my favourite rider and team. It seems that his all around abilities and strong depth team are making wonders.
Thanks for the fast and incredibly detailed reports Roturn, it was fun even from just a fan perspective...
Congrats to Vueling for the stage win!

Prevar higher than Juul-Jensen
No surprise to see Ponzi dominating, perfect route for him.
