Preview
This is the fifth edition of this race, third with 2.HC classification. For its profile, this race draws best climbers, sprinters and punchers in the world. So, last year won Chris Froome ahead of Contador and Evans. Year before it was Peter Velits ahead of Nibali and Gallopin. In 2011 winner was Robert Gesink and in 2010 Fabio Cancellara. So, this is a favorite place for start of the season for the best climbers. Also, last year point’s jersey went to Froome, but year before to Peter Sagan, who was in front of Andre Greipel and Marcel Kittel. Boasson Hagen won this jersey on first two editions.
On this year’s startlist main favorite for overall victory is Nairo Quintana from Moviestar. Among favorites for overall win are Ryder Hesjedal from Garmin-Sharp, Daniel Moreno from Katusha, Kwiatkowski and Uran from OmegaPharma-QuickStep, Tanel Kangert Astana, Fabio Duarte from Colombia, Monfort form Lotto-Belisol and Andy Schleck from Trek Factory. It is a pretty strong startlist. When you look on the profiles of the stage, more universal sprinters like Ciolek, Nizzolo should have more advantage than pure sprinters like Greipel in competition for Points Classification.
MTN-Qhubeka's main goal is stage victory and Gerald Ciolek will be on the task to secure it. John-Lee Augustyn, Meintjes and Van Niekerk will be options in the mountains. Ciolek's universality could help him to score some good results on hilly stages.

Tour of Oman
With many small, but steep hills near the end of the stages, this race is very unpredictable and general classification could be changed on a daily bases. So you should pay special attention on stages two, five and six. Also, stage four is the King stage, which should make biggest changes and gaps should exclude many riders from winning GC. Ii is expected to see many attacks and many interesting stages on this year’s edition.

Stage 1
First stage is the only flat stage for classical sprinters.
Breakaway, in which are Walker (DPC), Cheung (HKG) and Prete (BFL), has 5’30’’ lead with 130km to the finish.
Waker takes first intermediate sprint ahead of Prete and Cheung.
Category climb sprint goes to Prete.
MTN-Qhubeka is keeping a pace. Having Ciolek as a main sprinter, they are absolutely interested to bring this stage into sprint.
Trek’s riders are pushing the peloton to their limits.
Riders are dropping of the back of the peloton due to high rhythm. Renshaw, Farrar, Kwiatkowski, Danielson, Matthews, Slagter, Meyer, Brajkovic dropped of the peloton.
Requigui has been injured on this stage patellar tendon tear. Very unfortunate for him.
Borut Bozic first opens up the sprint. Ciolek, Nizzolo, Greipel are following him.
Ciolek opens up sprint.
What a victory for Ciolek, his fifth this season. Main goal for this race is already fulfilled. He can ride freely on the next stages.

Stage 2
With two hills near the finish of the stage this is probably going to end up with a bunch sprint. Ciolek, Greipel, Nizzolo and the others will have to do their best if they want to compete for the victory because there will be many bald riders who want to push their limits.
Eight riders escaped from the peloton Smukulis (KAT), Dekker (GRM), Walker (DPC), Vakoc (OPQ), O’Brien (HGP), Leung (HKG), Romero (COL) and Witmitz (BFL). Trek is setting a pace to catch them.
Breakaway is caught right before first intermediate sprint so Nizzolo grabed max number of points in front of Greipel and Dockx.
Another attack, Albasini (OGE), Dekker (GRM), Malori (MOV) and Cupitt (BFL) have 1’30’’. Egor Silin (KAT) is joining the group.
With 48km from the finish line, breakaway has 2’45’’ lead.
After first hill Albasini managed to escape. Malori, Dekker and Silin are trying to merge the gap.
Ciolek and Van Niekerk are attacking on the last hill of the stage.
Caruso (KAT) is following attack easily.
Monfort is trying to close the gap to Ciolek.
Albasini wins in front of Silin and Dekker.

Stage 3
Breakaway is formed very quickly. Riders Mate (COF), Vakoc (OPQ), Bongiorno (BAR), Clarke (DPC), Lovelock (HGP), Zeits (AST), Pantano (COL), Witmitz (BFL) are very confident that they can win the stage.
MTN-Qhubeka, as a leader's jersey holder, keep the pace of the peloton.
Mate takes third category climb ahead of Pantano and Vakoc.
First intermediate sprint wins Pantano, but second one takes Clarke.
After whole day in breakaway Bongiorno attacks. He is heading solo towards the finishing line.
A solo win for Bongiorno. Brilliant performance from Bardiani's rider.
It was a sprint for second place, and it wins Zeits ahead of Pantano. Ciolek made it fifth. Not bad holding a leaders jersey and points jersey for three days. He didn't expect it before the race. All his effort is paying of.

Stage 4
Today we will see in action pure climbers. We should expect big changes in general classification. With 25 degrees this are perfect conditions for racing.

Pollock takes first intermediate sprint ahead of Le Mevel and Gerrans
Manfredi couldn’t keep up with the escapees so he dropped.

Volta ao Algarve
Preview
With first edition held in 1960, this race has great tradition. It is held every year since 1977. Since 2005 it is held as 2.1 race and due to it’s position in calendar in February and great weather which is in Portugal in that time of year, many riders decide to ride this race as a preparation for season of classics.
With two victories and one second place, Tony Martin is the best contender from this race. Also Alberto Contador has two victories. Bernard Eisel is rider with most stage wins, five, in front of Petacchi and Steegmans who have three.
On this year’s edition on the startlist are many great names of world’s cycling. First of all, there is Tony Martin who defends title, second is Chris Froome, Tour de France winner. Garmin-Sharp is sending very strong squad to this race with Talansky, Bauer, Navardauskas and rookie in World Tour Acevedo.
Belkin is coming to this race with Sep Vanmarcke and Theo Bos. Giant Shimano is sending Marcel Kittel to try to win a stage.
Leader of AG2R La Mondiale will be Carlos Betancur, and Romain Bardet will be second rider, but he could make also damage to other favorites. Also, this the first race for Chris Horner in new team.
Jurgen Roelandts and Tony Gallopin will lead Lotto Belisol, Moreno Moser Cannondale. MTN-Qhubeka, after great results this season, comes with different squad. With Gerdemann and Gebremaryam as leaders, this is squad will try through breakawyas to make some results and to win some jersey, even though our sponsor asks for top five result which I find quit unrealistic.
With stages designed for more universal sprineters and punchers, and 34km long time trial, this year’s winner must be very universal rider with many different qualities.

Volta ao Algarve
Stage 1
With a tricky finish this stage is having sprint finish but probably for more universal sprinters. Also, many riders will try out their legs in the breakaway.
Attack by Gebremaryam from MTN-Qhubeka. Not having sprinter, MTN-Qhubeka has decided to send the man in the front group.
Breakaway has been formed with Senechal (COF), Gebremaryam (MTN), Mottet (WBC), Betiol (CAN), Afonso (LAR) and Carnevali (WIL).
Gebremariam takes first interemediate sprint in front of Senechal and Afonso.
Gebremariam takes second intermediate sprint ahead of Mottet and Senechal.
Gebremariam takes third category climb and he will be man in doted
tomorrow. HE is very active on today's stage.
With 91km from the finish breakaway has more than 7’30’’ gap.
Wanty and OPQ start sprint.
Victory for Gianni Meersman. Great speed in the finish of the stage was remarkable and Meersman did a great job.
Gebremaryam did a great job being third in general classification and leading a mountain and young rider classification. Great effort from 22 year old rider.

Stage 5
With Denis Van Niekerk on 15th position, this stage will be decisive for MTN-Qhubeka's top ten hopes in overall. With three hills near the end of the stage, attacks could make difference. Due to narrow road, position in the peloton will make big difference.
Ciolek managed to get in to breakaway whit six other guys Battaglin (BAR), Visconti (MOV), Sulzberger (DPC), Mate (COF), Devolder (TFR) and Kangert (AST). They have 4’36’’ lead. Best in GC in the breakaway is Ciolek with 6’41’’. Leaders jersey is secure for now.
Cioelek takes first intermediate sprint and keeps point classification jersey firmly on his shoulders.
Gap became 8’15’’. Ciolek is virtual leader on the road.
Lotto Belisol is controlling the gap. It is now 6’45’’ and decreasing.
On the first hill Ciolek couldn’t follow the others and he dropped from the group.
In the peloton, also Monfort, Vanendert (LBL), Alaphilippe and Kwiatkowski (OPQ) escaped from the peloton and have 36’’ in front of Van Niekerk and Augustyn who are 1’00’’ ahead of peloton.
Spilak, Quintana, Uran, Caruso are passing Van Niekerk. He will try to stay with them and get some rest.
After last hill in the lead are only Visconti, Mate and Battaglin.
