Again, riders like Porte (eventhough he has the Giro) or Henao are probably the more dissapointed ones. And who should lead the god damn Vuelta then? The only thing saving us of total sky domination is their managements stupidity.
Seems like they don't really care about the Vuelta. The Tour is obviously the bigger event, while Sky is doing a lot of business in Italy to make the Giro highly important too. In the end, it's all about the money...
With such teams sent to the Tour by Sky, I'm starting to think Sky will be the only team there in a few years. Everyone will just start going to the Giro
There is still a possibility that Sky doping program will be revealed at some point and Froome stripped of titles, so being 2nd is not so bad. Of course it is not like winning it on the road.

apart from eurosport + highlights on ITV4 the Vuelta gets virtually no coverage in the British media so its hardly a surprise Sky don't see it as a priority especially given that there is sometimes an overlap with the Tour of Britain. it might seem strange to people outside of the UK that a 2.1 race is a higher priority than a grand tour but the simple fact is that in recent years the profile of the ToB in the British media has skyrocketed whilst unless you're a cycling fan you probably wouldn't know the Vuelta existed so its no surprise prioritise the Tour of Britain, apart from it being Sky's national tour it creates far more brand exposure than the Vuelta ever could (even though BSkyB/news corp don't exactly need the extra publicity)
Not sure if mentioned before, but the organisers of the Dubai Tour have big plans: first they want to get it to the WT, and then expand it to a GT, "possibly with help of the other 6 emirates".
If that happens i'll stop watching cycling for good.

After criticizing Boonen for 'always doing the same races', he announced that he's going to aim for the exact same races for the three billionth time
I haven't seen any news on it yet but I'm guessing it was something like:
Milan - San Remo
Then peak for RvV and Roubaix
Followed by the inevitable journalist asksing "What about AGR?". After this a trainer or manager answers: "We think it is a race that really suits Fabian but we will have to see what his fitness is like at the time."

He really likes change, that Luigi!
