The entire team is on a huge high after Cadel's previous race, The Amstel Gold Race, ended in success for the veteran Aussie. Making a move away from the peloton with 25km's remaining and being bridged by Schleck, the pair managed to work together to create enough of a gap to ensure one of them the victory. Perhaps Cadel was in better form than Andy, or perhaps he raced smarted, although whatever the reason, Cadel had more to give up the final climb and rocketed away from Schleck to give the team it's first major win and possibly Cadel's finest one-day race victory (behind Worlds of course).
