Actually, between the both of them, you have two pretty different types of places. Algarve is mostly beach with an unbearably hot weather. But that's it. There's not much more to see except maybe some beautiful reefs in the western part of the region. But there's not much more to see (except the funny ratio of 10 foreigners for every Portuguese you see). Madeira has more of a mild weather (it will probably rain a few days) but has more places to go site seeing and it does have nice beaches.
I'm rather used to going to Arreau in the winter. Yeah, there're a couple of ski resorts around Anyway, you'll certainly enjoy and make great climbs around as well
The official advertisements for the World Cup (not by the media. The official ones made by the organizers) featured only black players. They refused to include any non-black players "because this world cup is about africa".
Apparently nobody has a problem with that. Imagine a european World Cup's organizers went "This world cup is about europe. We refuse to show any non-white players". Imagine the resulting mushroom cloud.

Good to learn all Africans are black, they'll be happy with that in the Mediterranean countries, as well as the white South African guys, etc.
That's just plain stupid... Could be fun (ok it's not the word), to do it in France, just white players, that'd look realistic. Well, maybe not that much after all...
