Podium
1) Matej Mohoric
2) Michael Matthews
3) Tim Wellens
Riders with three letter initials were very popular among our predictors for this race but it was two riders with alliterative names (and both with the same letter!) that took the top two positions. Matej Mohoric upset the apple-cart and more fancied rivals to take the win ahead of Michael Matthews, another less fancied name on the start list. Tim Wellens, one of the pre-race favourites or the win, finished 3rd.
It isn't surprising that none of the top 2 had any backers in the predictions, while Wellens was picked by seven members. The other most popular picks were Van Avermaet, Kragh Andersen and Van Baarle, who finished 6th, 7th and 5th respectively.
All seven members who picked Wellens come away with the joint win from this race, just 5 points each. Everyone else get a duck.
Stay tuned for the result of Cyclassics Hamburg and the updated points table...

Podium
1) Elia Viviani
2) Arnaud Demare
3) Alexander Kristoff
Viviani continues his great run this year to take another win in Hamburg. Both Demare and Kristoff keep their late TDF form going as well, and complete the podium.
Viviani was the most popular pick with ten members going for him. Demare had only two picks while there was more love for Kristoff with eight inclusions.
With their picks of both Viviani and Demare, Aquarius and Freitas share the win in this race, and co-incidentally both picked the same other rider in Ackermann. They were a Kristoff pick away from getting double points. Purepasd was the only member who had only Viviani, and none of Demare or Kristoff while Selwink only had Kristoff among the podium finishers. Everyone else had both Viviani and Kristoff.
The updated table is as follows:
| Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | | purepasd | 29 | 150 | 795 | | AbhishekLFC | 30 | 145 | 795 | | df_Trek | 30 | 150 | 790 | | roturn | 30 | 140 | 770 | | hillis91 | 30 | 110 | 700 | | FreitasPCM | 30 | 115 | 700 | | Aquarius97 | 30 | 80 | 690 | | Marcovdw | 30 | 170 | 660 | | Selwink | 28 | 95 | 655 | | jandal7 | 30 | 140 | 615 | | Raziz | 26 | 105 | 565 | | Agent David | 12 | 30 | 430 | | trekbmc | 16 | 115 | 390 | | Croatia14 | 24 | 105 | 380 | | United Forever | 7 | 70 | 270 | | emre99 | 6 | | 75 | | jensi251 | 3 | | 50 | | aldrofj | 3 | 10 | 30 |
purepasd's zero in Pologne allows Abhishek to tie it up at the top with df_Trek just 5 points down in 3rd. roturn isn't far away either. There is a tie for 4th as well between hillis and Freitas, while Aquarius lurks just behind. Marco and Selwink are stuck in mid-table while the others need a huge Vuelta result to realistically have any chance of a comeback.
Next up is the last GT of the year, the Vuelta a Espana, which allows a huge point-scoring opportunity. Entries will be open tomorrow. Stay tuned...

Entries are open for the following races:
1) Vuelta a Espana
Deadline: 25th August, Midnight, GMT
Bonus Question 1: On which stage will the final GC lead change take place? (Does not count if the same rider has taken the GC lead and lost it before that. For example, Rider A takes the lead after stage 10 but loses it to Rider B on stage 14, but then the former retakes the lead on stage 17 and wins the GC. Then 17 will be the answer) (10 points)
Bonus Question 2: Which team will win the most stages? (10 points)
2) Bretagne Classic - Ouest France
Deadline: 26th August, Midnight, GMT
No bonus question for this one.
