Il Falco won two Giros that were very poor in terms of wattages, and improved of like 5 W between 2005 (winner) and 2006 (nowhere) when his opponents improved of like 30 or 40 W in one year (new doping product ?).
If this year Giro has high wattages, it's very very unlikely that Savoldelli will win it or even play a significant role. |

As usual, this means absolutely nothing. Every time, the results from the first mountain stage of a grand tour are extremely atypical. expect guys who were crap today to be among the best in the real mountains and expect some guys who finished right up there today to blow up completely a week from now.
