I'm really glad you take my suggestions seriously, T-Photon. You can count on me to support the project each way I'm capable of. I'm impressed by your response!
I've found out today one more idea, which I think might be quite interesting. It's about creating a new team.
What about a feature that allow us to create a team from scratch, but not simply by chosing a sponsor and riders I want to have, like in PCM, but by negotiating it? I mean we start the game at the beginning of the year with no team and we start some negotiations with sponsors. Then, when we have some backing secured, we negotiate equipment deals, riders and staff etc. So basically we start the game in 2014, but our team will start in 2015 with all we were able to negotiate. I think that would be more interesting and challenging than just to chose which riders I want to have. And more realistic!
There should be various levels of reputation available we assign to ourselvese in this feature. We can start with high reputation, so we are able to negotiate WT-level deals. But we can also start with low reputation, so the best we can get will be a local, continental team with some cheap talent somewhere.

Sticking to team identity
I am aware that some players prefer to have the same team forever and tbh i feel that way myself with some teams. That said i prioritize realism while trying to add as much customization as i have time for.
Verdict: Maybe
I really hope you can introduce this feature, because I think it's one of those that doesn't require much work compared to others. In PCM, I simply edit my sponsorship deal with Lachi's editor so it never runs out. But I dream of the game I'm not forced to use any editors in.

Just a quick suggestion although maybe too late, Why don't you make an option where the game chooses the team for you for a New Career ? |

Do you mean a random choice, or a choice like a difficulty level?
Like Difficulty Level: Something like, you play one stage with equalised teams, and if you are good in the stage, you get a konti, or a konti-pro team, and if you come around last with 10 mins. back, you get Team Sky.

Just Random, so you would manage teams you would normally ignore |

@sutty68: should be easy to implement i will look into it
@Anderis: your welcome, if you take time to contribute with suggestions i will of course spend a little time dicussing them
- Focus should be on the core career experience so i cant make too many promises about Create a team features but we will see what i can do. Seems you want a lot of customization and down the line i think that is the right approach so i will probbly get to such features at some point.
- regarding the infinite sponsor contract, i really think it should be possible to implement fairly easily
on a side note i agree that most players (95%) should be able to enjoy the game without the use of any editor. Should you disagree with stats and other data there will be an editor included from the get go so anyone can edit the DB as they please. The best of both worlds in my opinion.

I would like to share one point with you all.
I always wanted some feature for the creation of a personnalized team that is absent in PCM. When you create a PCM team for a career, you can pick up Riders from other teams or young free riders (or really free riders too old or too weak to be in other real teams...). I don't like the idea to pick-up players from other teams simply because you weaken them. If I chose Van den Broeck and Monfort, or Pelizzotti, I simply remove the leaders from Lotto and Androni.
Instead of that, it would be great to have the possibility to really create our team. There are several possibilities.
1) a complete team totally generated by the soft using parameters defined by the user like the nationality, the total number of riders or their specialization...
2) a kind of "roleplay" generation of riders where you have a number of points you can add to randomly created players in order to obtain a well balanced team that fits with your desire.
3) any other idea :-)
What do you think about that ? |

@Miguel98: I imagine the stage editor will only be used for creating stages which you import into the game afterwards. DB Editor can be used for adding new races to the game.
@Silvax: I agree with you that picking riders from the existing teams means you twist the reality too much making for some weird career scenarios when playing with your own team.
I actually think that the concept Anderis presented where you start a career without a team and then spend the entire first season negotiating with riders and sponsors could be an interesting way to build a team from scratch without ruining the existing teams.
That way you can catch "leftovers" from the other teams and mix them with talents you have discovered during that first season.
To take things further the reputation of you and level of riders and sponsors you attract during this team creation could then be tied to your achievements in prior careers you have completed. That way there can be some kind of cross play between different career games say you play 5 seasons with Astana and win almost every race imaginable then you go on and create a new career from scratch with a good reputation and is able to attract a decent sponsor and some minor stars.
Just throwing ideas out there, nothing final or anything

Maybe I come up with too many FM-like suggestions, but what about the possibility of older riders mentoring younger ones? I'm not sure in what way would that work but maybe one should think about it. In real life, each team benefits from having experienced riders onboard. |

I have an idea I think could be great! - I am not sure if it is going to work - But I would think it could be great
Right now we have an stage editor where almost everybody can make their own stages if they want to?
But would it not be possible to make a shirteditor where there is the white standard shirt.
Then in the editor you can change colors, shapes and everything and of course put sponsors and things in it!
Then everybody can make their own shirts also with a program simply made for it!
You can also have like standard leaderjerseys, championsship jerseys and so on! - Then people can put their own sponsors and things on |

Not sure if that's really needed. I mean, right now, I could send you over a pdn file thazt is essentially just that.
Other than that, I'm completely in love with Anderis' idea, please, please implement it.

Why don't you have a game that is realistic as you want it, but add on a section in settings where you can add things like infinite sponsors?
If you have the time to implement it, I think that would make the game good for people who want realism (like me) and people who want special features.

Yeah i think that is the right approach - Customization
We all want different experiences so a page with settings before starting a career seems needed.
