I'm happy Farrar finally beat Cav in a sprint as it doesn't happen much.
As for Cav he has 2 more weeks roughly to try some sprints without a train. I think he'll be alright for the worlds. |

I think he was afraid the 2 guys in front of him would move to the outside and he would be blocked in. It was a risky move, and didn't pay off even though his sprint was one of the strongest I've ever seen.
What is really bad about this sprint though is what it bodes for the World's. This is a perfect example of why Cav needs his lead-out train to win, and he won't have it in Geelong.
Alternatively, a perfect chance to practice for the Worlds where he isnt going to have the luxury of any sort of trai
Its already been proven plenty of times that he does not need a lead-out train to win, only idiots still think otherwise. Dont be an idiot

Intxausti and Txurruka even 4.28.
Probably to have some opportunities to attack more often.
Hushovd was in an excellent position 2km to the finish and managed to have +43secs later

Yeah, but Intxausti and Txurruka had already lost a lot of minutes but Arroyo was sitting 12th in GC after yesterday. I had thought he was Caisses main man for the overall |

No, he doesn't need a lead-out train to win (I was a little overzealous with the use of language in my first post), but it sure helps. Don't get me wrong, I think Cav is hands down the best sprinter in the world today, but in the recent past only Robbie McEwen has been able to consistently win by hijacking other trains, for everyone else, their chance of victory gets a lot lower if they aren't delivered well to the finish. Is Cav more than capable of anyone else of winning that way in Melbourne? yes. But if, I don't know, Ale-Jet gets selected and is in the finishing straight getting led out by Pozzato, you don't think he becomes the favorite, if none of the other sprinters have a good train? |

173 ARROYO, David GCE m.t. 1º
Yesterday he had 1.26 there, but today they changed it.
So Arroyo finished in a later group but with the same time than Farrar. So obviously he crashed in the last 3 km or anything similar.
The official result is totally weird at the moment. Everybody with same time and Gilbert won The 5th result is the gerneal classification with same time. So a bit wrong

But it is a hill at the end. Might be to hard for him?
EDIT: And Katusha is riding, for Pozzato/Rodriguez?

Hill kind of reminds me of the one at the worlds. I think they'll chase, if only for that reason, so he can test his ability right now with a decent climb right before the finish. |

climb starts with 21.9km to go. Ends with 17km to go. So short.
