Another great stage for Evonik. Tvetcov very aggressive but without luck or the final bit of strength and Chiarello cruising comfortable through the stage. Still in 4th and 11th and now it's down to reducing losses in the TT. Though it shouldnt be too bad because they can actually gain time on some of their competitors too.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

No time lost for Haig this time, that's good. Wanted to be on this break though. Nice to see an Aussie win, btw!
Now hoping for another good TT from Haig, before he gets dropped on the last mountain

McCarthy!!! Very happy to be rewarded with the win here after what was an underwhelming first hull stage. Good to see we got the right rider in the break this time and it all paid off. Kennaugh lost a bit more time.which may be expected so he dropped a position but I'd imagine the TT will bring him back up the standings a little. Can only hope he joins the break for the KOM as well as I feel he is still in the hunt there as well...

That was a good stage! In such a strong break, 2nd (and 7th) place is a great result. Really happy with that.
Now fingers crossed that Würtz have some left in the tank and that he can get us another podium tomorrow.

Ahhh, that was SO close to a breakout result for Madouas!
I believe his straight flat sprint would've been the best of the group, too bad he couldn't make use of it.
Still, 4th is outright amazing for a lvl3 rider, and Declerq right behind makes it a perfect day.
Having two riders in a break is an achievement already, and to then have both in the top half of the break which made it to the finish is even better.
Congrats ryant!
In between this and Sagiv's amazing stage 1 performance, this race complements Herklotz' Suisse win perfectly (considering the lineup here) and hopefully helps us climb in the rankings.

My team is allergic to breakaways. Pretty sure I've been in about 3 all year.

That was close! For a moment I thought Würtz could go all the way, but Phinney is just a beast. Congrats yet again, Croatia!
2nd and 5th make it a great stage for us and all in all it's looking like a solid race. Hope Stake Laengen can finish it off with a good mountain stage and stay in the top 20.
Thanks for another great report, Ulrich. Keep up the good work

Whatever it takes to not face Phinney in the GTs, I guess! CongratzZZzz!

If only Haig had climbed better, I would be confident for the final stage! He really gained through those TTs here, which is obviously a key factor here.

Still an outstanding GC position for both Chiarello and Tvetcov but both are very vulnerable for the last stage where a small time loss would cost a lot of points.

The TT was a bit worse than expected but nothing too weird tbh.
Olivier at 69 lacking too much there.
Still 8th due to the awesome first mountain stage though which is the minimum wanted now. Still chances to get up to 4th I guess as the climbers just ahead are weaker and the time gap not impossible. |

We ruined our GC positions in the previous stage. But nice TT by Powless. We'll score very little in this Dauphine though.

I guess we have to be happy with whatever we got beyond minimum. Atleast Vlatos performed according to his stats to take 3rd. Boily did what he could to secure a decent GC. Too bad the break didn’t stand a chance though.
Big congrats to croatia. This is singlehandedly the most onesided GC race I think I have ever seen.

What an awesome stage by our full squad, with Kozhatayev and Novak doing well in pacing the pack and Phinney delivering once more. Superb racing by our captain, makes me feel good about the shit ton of cash I spent on bringing him in and making him an 85 climber this offseason even without attending a GT. That may actually pan out really well at the end eventhough it was heavily critisized at the beginning of the season, which is a good feeling for me.
Thanks for all the great reports! |

2nd best of the rest
Haig with a nice performance in that final stage, actually. Yes, no huge stage results yet again, but finishing third in the points classification proves his consistency here (well, mostly through his two TTs and today). Another GC podium for him then! Strangely it doesn't really transform into a nice scoring haul for him this year, but of course I'm happy to see my favorite rider getting notable GC results in a regular base.
Thanks for the quality reports!

Wow I don’t know what to say this race couldn’t have been worse. It was a failure on every level. On top of that Tour de Suisse also wasn’t much better.
Thanks for the reports Ulrich, they are very well written. Don’t take this the wrong way but I hope Nemolito reports my next races again. His PCM seems to treat my team much better.
And of course, congrats Croatia! |

Another hero ride from Brambilla.
The time - trials almost ruined the race for him, but he definitely made up for it in this final stage. Despite it wasn't a stage win, a top 10 in the GC or a KoM jersey, it was still a brilliant ride for him.
And I guess, Phinney could have a change of winning the Tour
Thanks for the reports.

Couldn't do it any better than that, Phinney. Congrats on an amazing race, Croatia.
I really like that Laengen really tried and got in the break on the two mountain stages, but the outcome was of course not what we hoped. A good race for us anyway with Würtz pushing Phinney in the TTs and a good break stage with Lastra and Serrano.
Thanks for the reports, Ulrich!
