Alright must have been a crash then, I guess. Race over already
He really is the King of bad luck! I feel for you mate. It sucks big time, to have a top rider who is just constantly fucking up by crashing out of his key races. I had Fothen who did that some seasons back, with also Contador crashing in some very important races, not to mention Ricco who was probably the worst.

Also Jakub Novak performed his best climb of the season so far to snatch 19th. If he can replicate that, for the remainder of the race we might be able to fight for a spot in the region of 20-23... We had 25th as the goal prior to the race, but all sort of things can happen, and it won't be difficult to point out 25 better climbers from this peloton.
You sir are a wizard - 25 riders exactly with 78 or above, so on paper better than Novak

I had set aside more than 1 million the whole transfer season just for him, you wouldn't have changed a thing
Would have changed your team quite a bit if you had purchased him for 1mio though - You probably wouldn't have been a PT team right now - and who knows. Maybe Demare would have been at the team he dreams of

Hehe. I think I can points out a few 77 riders who are also usually climbing better than Novak. His 65ACC is killing him in the decisive stages. Hopefully he can take advantage of the TT.

Machado, you beast! What a ride. I'm seriously impressed with the double-play from him and Vinhas and his attention to Taramae's moves. I wasn't really hoping for more than a random place in the top10, but now I'm hopeful for a podium.
Anyway there are still too many mountains to be climbed so better not get all too enthusiastic about this race. Congratulations Heine, your leader is back into the mix for overall victory.
Also gotta feel for Jayco. Them and Tinkoff have really hit a brick wall here. Jayco could be well inside the podium/top5 fight for the season's rankings if it weren't for this Morton's demises. Hopefully Haig wins the Dauphine to offset this one

Great result, Taaramae attacking and attacking and winning! Ofc I could wish that he got a bit more time, but this makes me believe I will get that time on the next mountain stages.
A bit dissapointed in Preidler, had wanted him to do a bit better, but hopefully he is saving his legs

Yeah. I remember those hq posts
tough to talk about a hypothetical situation but i could see myself going for a 14 men squad for a wonderkid which would make a 1m+ bid possibly while big enough space for 2-3 leaders to avoid relegation from PCT.
Hypothetically talking ofc
Maybe for the better for both of us that I was just starting in CT and never had a chance to think about doing it

Rein is such a GOAT this season. Hot candidate for Velo d'Or imo.

Reine was an animal there. I'm just glad to see Amador hanging with the top guys. Very exciting stage, thank you.

Rein looking strong!
Exciting stage and report thanks for that.
Nice seeing Robov fighting to the KoM jersey lets hold on to that one
Wellens looked strong but suffered in the last km just like Abal in the Vuelta.
But really strong team performance with 4 guys Top 40 in GC right now.
Morton and Kritskiy having some bad luck, that sucks. |

Apologies for the report at the end with a lack of coverage of the other GC movements and also the final sprint - not much to see for the latter though

Yeah... we're recovering well from a crash here..
Oh my, oh my.. it couldn't go any worse than this.. here goes the good feelings after Haig's and Morton's nice GT results. Morton crashing in T-A and TdS is a huge bummer and despite crashing three times in T-A, he looks even worse now Baaah! I guess this won't get better at any point here. My only hope is Ben Dyball, who's also far down the GC though and too weak for dangerous breakaway attempts.
I can't stop whining. This is so bad that I could cry. My feelings are with Oleg. True shocker as well.
Thanks for the reports anyway Probably won't stop whining until this horror is over though

Well, that wasn't smart at all. Looks like it was exactly that effort that made him lose a whole minute in the end.
Oh well, it worked great once, and I didn't really expect to get more than 7th out of this anyway. The lost chance on a stage win and the lost points for that jersey hurt more.

Wellens doing fine ofc with some luck regarding the time, but he looked sharp.
Was hoping Robov would attack the KoM jersey on this stage aswell he likes the Hills better than the long climbs.
Btw, what happend to Havard Blikra crash? Cant seem to find him in the result list or in the report. |

@tsmoha - Feel really sorry for both of you, especially you given Morton's season so far and lack of a co-leader such as Novikov
@viking - Must have been a crash. Doubt he missed the time cut, I must have just missed his crash, sorry

@jandal No problem, its not like he was a favorite crashing out, only having a chance getting Top 50. |
