Dramatic stage, and a good with for Gouge... (Thats what you get for not copying after closing down the page). Too bad we lost the jersey, but luckily it kept the team well in front and thus not really affected by the crash. Good that none really lost time on it, though a few will be bruised I believe. I guess the TTT could save some of them and give them a bit of time to get better (Is it still so that none will disband in TT/TTTs?)

So that is some great win. Teams fighting against relegation having an awesome time so far, big one for Iberia.

I feel you, tsmoha. Morton just can't seem to avoid these crashes. I can't be too happy either with both my GC man and my sprinter involved. Fingers crossed for a good tomorrow.
Opportunistic win by Gougeard, but Degenkolb's failures do need to be offset by some random results, so it's kind of fair on them, I reckon.

Thank god this cost us no race days and we banked the needed XP by just showing up! I'm just gonna take the boys out into town for some comforting...

Maybe I was a bit optimistic but I had hopes for a stage win by now or atleast a podium at its worse...
Shame about Morton.
We got 3 guys down so far but not our leader fortunately.
Congrats beagle! |

Congrats to beagle
Gougeard likely getting at least some extra seconds from the chaos. Being at the right place at the right time pay's out.

Unfortunate to see Stake Laengen down again and injured. Is it possible to get rid off the injury during the race, or will he be affected through the whole race now?
Though, Stake Laengen down and injured is only a minor thing compared to the bad luck tsmoha is having. Fingers crossed Morton came away from it not injured, and the same goes for Olivier and Reis too.
Weird stage up front too, with the sprinter teams not up for the chase. Congratulations to beagle, who knows, those points could prove vital when everything is counted towards the end of the season
Thank you for the nice reporting, SN. Very easy to get an overview of the situation as you read through, which is great considering all the stuff that happened towards the end there. |

Congrats to beagle for grabbing everything on the stage. If only you would have left me the KoM lead...

From top to bottom...hopefully not injured, them I don't mind at all. But both leaders crash really is annoying...
Last year De Bie crashed in first days and was injured all race...pls not again.
At least no time loss hopefully means being lucky. |

Cool to see a break win, gratz Beagle!
Sprint organisation always seems a bit weird after a break - things like Van Poppel sprinting off to second by going early and the organisation being messy, at least it's good to see Ahlstrand proving he's interested in sprinting.

Yeah, injuries can last anything from just a couple stages to the entire race (I don't actually know the chance of different lengths though), so there's probably a decent chance he'll be useful later on in the race.

Iberia with a nice win and rider in focus Potts doing well, too, is very good to see. Groenewegen had a mediocre Giro last year, so its good to see him with an early stage. Moser is going at it with Danacik and Vesely scoring luxury points early, just hope this doesn't mean Velits will underperform later in the race.
It was both fun and stressful to report the Giro last year, so I hope that Alarcon can do that justice and take the win once and for all. Good start to the Giro overall

Not that sure about this.
Iirc he had one 2nd on a stage. He wasn`t maxed back then and just 80 sprint.
He now is 82 sp with pretty nice backup stats. Hence I would have been disappointed if there was no sign of improvement from last year. |

Ouch, looks like one of my main TT guys, Gretsch, is injured. Hope Formolo survived the crash in better shape than him.
Also fingers crossed for Morton, Olivier, Reis and Konig.

Finally Fiedler takes the jersey he had to take to justify his appearance here.

Hmm...Seems both my leaders heavily injured after the crash...not good.
Stage result of the rest impressive but had preferred it other way around. |

Really happy with how the first 4 stages have went, 1:30 for Alarcon to pink with his two worst stages out of the way is really nice!
Really hope Morton isnt injured, he have filled up his crash quota already!

Finally good news. Morton only losing 2 seconds (looking at the screen from the finish I wonder how/why he got those 2 seconds though but anyway), winning the stage we had to win, one jersey at least. Could have been worse. Glad the team dropped Olman and Hepburn instead of Morton and Canty. PCM can be smart at times - accidentely of course.
Missing out on pink does not really hurt when it makes Morton hanging on with the winning guys. Not sure if that's a sign of being not injured, but I assume/hope it is.

Love to see Jayco taking the win! Also great to see that Morton didn't get injured in his crash earlier.
