Still afraid. Swift with his best TT ever and De Bie unfortunately really weak. Losing time on many while he normally should have gained...
Really hope later is getting all freedoms in next stages to go for top 5 GC. |

Expected time loss for Demare, but 32 seconds on Mager who's only one TT stat better is too much.
Although it probably rather was a really good day for Mager, I guess. Which in itself is good since he could benefit from some tougher mo/hil ratios in the second half of the race.
Time for good daily form and positioning now please!

Good TT by Haugard Jensen, hopefully thats a sign what comes next on the hills. Also nice ride by F.Ludvigsson.
Reimer decent and can climb in GC in the following stages.

Great stage by Howson. Too bad he lost time yesterday, some extra points from the GC would have been nice.
Quite a lot of time lost by Boswell. He needs to be very active in the hills to get a top 10 now.

Not more than 1'31 lost to Coppel for Beltran gives hope for the GC here, but it will take some aggressive racing from our captain. But nevertheless good to see he at least got a shot at going for it as it stands now.
Congratulations on a very expected stage win and race lead, SotD. Now bring on the hills! |

Definitely happy with this TT. Bobridge as 4th on the stage and gaining time on Trofimov is great. Oram doing fine to be in the U25 lead for a day. Good stuff.
Still a long way to go and those other GC favorites with just a minute down on Bobridge are obviously still in contention. But anyway, this timetrial was a key result to fullfill his role as a podium contender. The GC lead is in striking distance, so come on, Bobo, just do it!

Fuck you Nepom. Should have done much better, at least close to a top 10... Konovalovas, Kononenko and Young fairly solid/good though. Hell, Konovalovas actually may have a solid shot at a decent GC, with Nepom also in a pretty decent position for some points.

Great start by Ponzi, currently well ahead of schedule. Still some work to do overtake Bobridge and keep Bakelandts behind. But things are looking very positive for a podium atleast.

Coppel being Coppel, delivering anotherstrong vitory for Festina. Congrats SotD. Vlatos also hoarding some points must be a nice feeling
Bobby is the main victor imo. Trofimov has been reasonably distanced with which should be a nice advantage.
Reis was decent, but boy oh boy am I happy with Betilson! First Angolan to reach a top10 in a PT stage. He is just 73 TT!! wtf?!

Very interesting gap gained by Bobridge there, with the big gap after the first 6 riders. Puts him in a good position for the race overall, if he can back that up in the hills.

I knew my team was bad except for Rein. But I had hoped that we would at least try to join some breaks...

Nice to see Bouglas keeping the KOM jersey for another day. It's not going to stay like that, we know that, but we will take whatever we can get.
Also not surprised (nor unsatisfied) that Coppel lost the jersey. Koretzky clearly worked for him, which isn't the best possible solution - so to see him get into a group ahead of Coppel is likely the best outcome for us if we are to fight for a top 10GC position. If Coppel can then get a top 20GC it would be perfect.
We have secured 73 points from the race already, and in an ideal world we would get 200 points in total, to get a total of 600 points from the tripple header. Not impossible, but we have to get some attacks in the next stages.
The best possible thing would be to see Bouglas go for the BotD in stage 5, to get as many KOM points as possible, and then see Koretzky attack for a good stage result, and see Coppel being on the defense to stay somewhere around 12-15th in the GC.
Looking at the GC Koretzky should be able to beat Kangert, Izagirre, Coppel, Bekmanis, Haugaard, Reimer, Zakarin, Roelandts, Nepomnyasniy, Felline, van der Lijke, Kudus and Senyenov, but will probably lose to Skujins. So 13 places up, which would give him 10th in the GC.

Certainly not the best suited stage for Bobridge and his stamina, so even though he suffered in the end, it's still good to see that he was attentive with the big moves. Obviously would have been better if he hadn't cracked and hold on for a stage podium, but it's a day in yellow now, so I won't complain too much. Anything can happen though, from 1 to outside the Top-10.
Wonder how my team will control the race now?

Nice first clash between the favourites. Trofimov looks to be saving the best for later, but nobody else is holding their intent. Congrats on the victory, DD.
Some breakaways would be nice for us, now.

Solid performances in the TT. 13th for Halme in the Finnish NC really is great. Maybe a sign that he could become one of those TT'ers that PCM love enough to make them overperform?
6th for Paillot slightly lower than hoped for but still the teams first PT top 10 so that's cool.
Also fun to see Khalifa in his NC in the break once again, he really has a nose for getting in the break.

Good aggressive riding by Bakelants and Strava. I would have liked to keep the time gap to Ginanni way lower though, only ~30 seconds on the main group is also too much of a time loss. Hopefully this still bodes well for the coming days and Strava keeps attacking. Gratz to Gazelle. Also, thanks for the reports of course, they are grea.

Was really worried when seeing #16 only of Villella in the front rows.
Even more when Aegon riders weren`t following.
Good to see it came back together and De Bie+Villella were in the favourite group then.
I can see 5 riders ahead of De Bie that are potentially dropiping behind. Hence 5th-10th should be minimum goal for De Bie now and he has good support in Villella here.
Ginanni really being a top puncheur in this game version and hence could become a huge danger now for Bobridge, who showed weakness. |

Was not expecting to see Roelandts doing so well there, that was pretty cool to go with Lutsenko meeting his expectations.
