Solid enough for Pluchkin, staying within striking range of Phinney, and distancing some of the other GC riders. Next stage will really tell us if this will be a good race, and I'm rather hopeful now.

Another nice report. Some shake ups there but all out in the open still, Phinhey a beast, back to doing what he did best last season: slaying.

Hirt 2nd?!?! Wow, that is absolutely fascinating and awesome. Would never expect him so high on a hilly stage. Cool report.

Haha and what an uncool stage 4 for my team. A crash and all hopes lost for the overall rankings. Hopefully Hirt is at least uninjured and will be able to attack for a stage win now...

Oh wow... That was rather depressing at first sight, but the final climb Pluchkin delivered is something really rather special, and has me thinking he is the big GC favourite right now, at least barring any more crashes... Also boosts my hopes for a good Vuelta

@Roman Only 3 minutes between joy and desperation
Also, poor Morton. He really deserves a break from this race. At this point he should have retired and go home if he doesn't want to die in the following stages

Well crash, crash.
Most admit I laugh (odd behaviour ) when seeing Morton crash the first time, but the next second I got bad conscience.
And a few seconds later karma came and Wellens crashed.
Atleast Wellens did not struggled to much it seems , but loosing time to Yates is not good. |

A shame about all of those crashes.
Can't really ask for much more from Aru. Top 20 should be doable now.
Too bad Castroviejo isn't winning more KoM points in these breakaways, but at least we are active

Quite a comeback by Pluiplui but happy that Madrazo won the stage for Gazelle. Phinney still in the lead is good, no more cracking boy. Too bad about the crashes.

Btw, after 2 days with 2 stages/day, from now only one stage/day as we also have PN.

Yeah... that's three crashes for Morton in two stages. Oh my.... this won't be a good GC for sure.

Regarding to his future in Iberia - TG, Tenorio is succesfully digging the grave. I don´t remember any rider in MG such underperforming every race he participates. All serious offers are welcome

Tirreno and Paris Nice are sorta always a crashfeast, maybe this is down to that constant up-and-down that is sorta characteristically to them?

Getting so much bad luck in now, in order to strike back in the GTs then.

Where he crashed two or three times last year?

Hm, guess he is doomed. As a true aussie, it's at least realistic that he can't handle his bike.

Not the best day for Herklotz losing about a minute more than his MO stat allowed for, but so many positives today:
Bevin in the break with decent KoM points, not hit too hard by the crash, good performances by Bongiorno and Nerz to make a nice jump in the teams classification...
And ultimately, we don't want Herklotz to get extra cocky in renewals

Wow, that crash had a huge amount of victims. We were very lucky to avoid it.
But despite the reduced competition still a strong ride by Madrazo. He kept attacking and got rewarded with a stage win and comeback in GC. Very nice!
