It might come to both so early on in the PS4s lifeespan. Think PS2.

I would bet there will be a TDF2014 but not for the Next-Gen consoles but the current ones.
Those development kits etc. are not cheap, licenses the same case and Cyanide is still a small development team.

Current gen consoles won't be the main thing anymore. And this isn't releases as a launch title or something, it's June.

With the fact that there are more people owning XBOX 360 or PS3 today than in June 2014 owning a XBOX One or PS4.
Plus that PS3 and XBOX 360 will be supported for years to come, if you would have followed any launch of a successor console you would know that. Because there is a next-gen console it doesn't mean that all the projects will be transferred to the next console.
And that developing for the next-gen consoles will be even more expensive than it is to develop games on current-gen consoles. Rewriting the engine so it can use the next-gen power/possibilities etc.
How many reasons would you like to see until you won't hold your breath for TDF2014 on next-gen consoles?

Well more people own PS2s than PS3s, so why not release it on that?

Because TDF2013 wouldn't run on a PS2? Plus it is gens behind?
If PCMdaily would be Twitter, I would tag that as #whatastupidargument

But your arguement was that more people own a PS3 than a PS4.
I think they will port it.

If you would take some time to see what I meant (even though without saying it as I guess was Captain Obvious):
The PS3 is still supported, there are still games in development whilst there will be "just" a PS4 out when the PS3 is still roaring loud.
The PS2 is dead, not supported by Sony anymore, no one plays it regulary (possibly) or at least not so much more than PS3 so any game would be rentable etc. so you don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that this doesn't work out.

Let it go guys or get a room. You are both just putting forth your thoughts/opinions. Nobody knows whether 2014 version will be available on next gen consoles and no amount of discussion here will impact that decision, so no reason to get heated about it. |

Went ahead and bought the game. I spent a good deal of time in the Name Editor correcting names for the three teams (Sky, OPQS, and BMC) with fake names. It took a while, but by the time I was done the only thing different in the game is that BMC jerseys are replaced with COM.
Even though the objective is entirely different since you are controlling a single racer at a time, the game's atmosphere feels a lot like PCM. Although I've only played two stages, it also seems like it may carry some of the breakaway issues, too.
Playing as Sojasun, I launched a solo breakaway (no one wanted to go with me at all for some reason) on stage 2 with Brice Feillu. Degenkolb was in yellow, as 1 of 18 sprinters to get a 1'20" gap in stage 1. I launched the attack before the first climb of the day to go after the KOM jersey. The peloton allowed me to gain 6 minutes by the end of the final major climb with 60 km to go. And then... Nothing. Downhilling was pretty cool, but some of the fun was taken away considering the peloton tried nothing to catch me. Apparently no one else wanted yellow. I won the stage on a 100km breakaway by 5 minutes... I hope this is just a fluke.
I also noticed that Saur gets some free ad space. In the yellow jersey ceremony animation, Feillu is fitted with a maillot jaune carrying the 2012 logo of Saur-Sojasun. I guess the creators didn't think you could earn yellow from this team?
I have not tried the versus mode, but I imagine the game will be very interesting with another human to mix things up. As I've only played two stages so far, I am not giving my final judgment on the game yet. These were just my first impressions. |

Hi there.
Ended my first tour with Contador... won with 5 minutes to Andy. Found it too easy.
Always won time to all in mountain stages.
Do you found the game too easy too? |

Yes, easy with someone like Contador. I played a tour with Teejay Van Garderen. I did all the hilly and montain stages as well as the time trials.
I lost time in the time trials and had 15 seconds to make up on Contador on the penultimate stage which I just managed.
The game is a decent challenge with aslightly weaker rider in the mountains. You really need to decide when to follow attacks to keep enough in reserve for the final push. |

Even so... is Contador 5 minutes better to Froome? Wiggins? Nibali? etc
Of course the game is harder with other "weaker" cyclists... but what I meant was that it was to easy to win.
My opinion is, that the game is great to be played by 2 players, but if you seek a solo game, that may turn too easy.
But the game is amazinggggg |
