Personally i havn't been a fan of Halo since Halo 2. And exclusives is entirely up to personal preference, so that point is useless.
Again offline/online thing on the XO is academic because you wouldn't buy one and not use the online features, same goes for the PS4, so there goes that one.
Used games on the PS4 is up to the Dev, and i expect most devs to implement restrictions or just to put more effort into XO releases, countering that arguement.
Cheaper price... Depends on cost of Eye and games. In the UK 360 games are generally cheaper than PS3 games so i'm going to assume the same will happen, which will cover a chunk of the difference.
Better hardware... both still worse off than PC's so why get either? But yes the PS4 is marginally ahead there, not that it makes enough of a difference to go bananas over.
Anything else to throw at me?

The 24hour check isn't great, but the vast vast majority of gamers play online anyway these days, and if the console is automatically connected, as this new generation is designed for, then it makes no difference.
And again, fully expect Dev's on the PS4 to implement restrictions. In fact i'll ask a few of my friends about their plans! (two work for DICE, one for The Creative Assembly and one for Criterion)

90% of people with gaming console i know use it for the offline gaming and dont want have connected console (that iso only good for stupid achievments or for 13 years old who can call you mother a bit* when playing COD).
So these i know will be only annoyed by it.
Also many of them bring their x-box with them when they go somewhere and play with friends (not in the flat).
This can prove as impossible now.
Of course it can suit you and your situation, but honestly, would not console without stupid online check be better? We can stop this nonsense by not buying it!
Also i rate new x-box as ugly, compared to PS4.
So i really cant find a single reason why x-box...
Mybe only if you are after collecting achievments during commercials on your TV.

Guess what, you are not the target audience anymore.
Also i am the only person i know of (not just know) who does not use online play. And i know that the majority will connect their console to the internet willingly, regardless of whether they need to to "check in".

This is still unclear from MS to be fair. It currently sounds like to use your gamertag (not be a guest player) you will have to purchase a code. This will not put people of playing with mates in an evening.

Yes it would be better but it makes very little difference with this new generation of entertainment systems, which are designed with more than just gaming in mind.
Feel free to not buy any of them, it's easily the most sensible option.

And we hit fanboy bottom! If you are rating a console on looks you are struggling for reasons/arguements and it makes you look super desperate to win.
The only separation a the moment is exclusives (you can argue price but that's very much a temporary separation) which is all about preferance. You are within your right to prefer the PS4, but saying there is no reason to get an XO shows an incredible lack of rational thinking and fanboyism.

Yes on the paper DDR5 is better than DDR3 but if you have a bad system you simply can't use the advantage.
But as they seem to use the same GPU, the graphics on a PS4 can be potentially better than on a XBOX One.
But you need also a good developer who can take advantage of this. Some can, some can't.
I am not sure about this generation.
I mean the only "woos" at those E3 Conferences where when Sony announced that you can share games (basically correcting things Microsoft made worse). Thats almost catching all the rats around luring them into a river until they drown.
But the games itself? Not once (neither XBOX One or PS4).
Plus still too much shooters around. Feels like every 2nd or 3rd game is a shooter.
The industry is simply non-creative anymore.
Plus I don't see price as the biggest issue, I mean gaming is a rather expensive hobby, until it's not 600€ for the console no one would mind that.
And if you care about your money, simply don't try to make gaming your hobby.
Parts or Console 200-500€ each game around 50€.
I could have bought a okish pre-owned car just to roll over one and buy another one so far (from PS1 to XBOX 360)

I dont need to win Manx, i only have fun, as i am from the master pc race who only plays on consoles when being at party somewhere. 
So i dont really care which one is better, but so far it is pretty clear to me.
Fair points Rin, but i liked some games i saw, but again, the best ones will be also on PC, where they will look a lot better (Witcher. Batman, Battlefield, Cyberpunk...)
Only exclusive game i loved from presentation was Tom Clancys Division. But that is again MMO, which are ruined for me by spoiled kids.

On the Sony press conference, there was, what? Two shooters? That's acceptable. When it comes to third party developers etc, though, there was indeed too many shooters.

In terms of Manx vs. Avin - you can discuss all you like about the potential (non-)consequences of the Xbox' restrictions, but the point is: If the hardware is almost the same, the PS4 is less restricted (again, to a certain degree) and it's cheaper, why not go for this option? I just don't see what's in favour of the Xbox, except for motion control, which I personally see as a gimmick rather than an actual way of playing? |

I see. Not a fan of it, but since I have been PS+ member since 2011 sometime, and my current subscription ends sometime in 2014 if my memory isn't wrong, I don't think too much of it. I would prefer PS+ to be optional and have free online play like on the PS3.
My theory is that the console might be cheaper because of this, as they get more PS+ subscribers.

Apart from that I watched the Nintendo Direct and (although I am admittedly a Nintendo fan) I thought it was quite good, despite lack of a completely new and unexpected game.
WiiU looks better than XboxOne at the moment...

I guess that isn't a big deal for those who doesn't need to bunk mum and dad for their credit cards

The XBOX One is not really targeted at THE gamer.
I might guess that if you would compare the PS4 and the XBOX One, the one that would stand 10 years later also at your room would be the XBOX One because you can do more with it thinking of apps etc.
But THE gamer would definately go for the PS4 no doubt for that, because it's simply built for those. Still some gimmicks but a lot of core stuff.
Gaikai a major plus because it allows a lot for gamers, streaming PS1-PS4 games (XBOX One doesn't allow this or something close to like backwards compability), PS Vita (well at least one use for the Vita if they don't plan to make more games for the Vita) remote etc.
But I wonder how the Gaikai stuff really works I mean PS say PS1 games, they could just put up 5 or so and thats it but still "PS1 games"
I preferred the XBOX One before mainly because of the games I am used to (Forza Motorsport for example) but now I am not sure if I might take any next-gen console.. I mean there is still a lot to come for the current gen so why take the next train so early. I don't need flashy graphics.
But MS missed out on some plus things like the XBOX One could record all stuff on your TV like TV shows or all the XBOX action you want to record even if it's the dashboard etc.
So it would be also a record box.. I mean when the users troll it "DVR" than it could have DVR stuff
I doubt that MS will make a diffrent XBOX One after the release like they now have their 4th edition of a XBOX 360 announced with the XBOX 360 One or so (as it's looking like the XBOX One) with taking out some controversial stuff as it would be a big kick in the nuts to those day one orderers but would be something to stop the bleeding.

I would name that is not a problem for me personally, my XBOX 360 is connected to the internet.
But I think the problem behind that is: Let's assume in 10-15 years..
I could take a Dreamcast, plug it in and play it.

Kinect
I doubt that a US company would be that dumb to allow XYZ spy through it (recording stuff etc.) I mean they would be massively stupid because they would be sued with billion claims (USA the country where everything is possible ) and I guess after it comes out a hacker will definately try to hack Kinect to find that out..
Game sharing
The last game I shared was around 2005 or so, so nevermind if there is somekind of DRM. Plus selling old games..
I mean the only real place I could sell my stuff (like older NHL games) would be Gamestop because no one wants it and Gamestop would give me 1€ and sell it for 20€ or 30€..
But I would trust MS more in this stuff (called privacy) than Facebook, Google, Apple etc. but still if I would have it lay something over the lens plus microphone opening.
Plus with the stuff known at the moment, my friends are also on my friends list so I could share games.
