Finally CUNEGO shows what he's worth this season again
you see the importance of a strong team which I sure have
just bennati is under-preforming... however with 2 out of 5 stage wins, GC AND KOM I shouldnt complain |

I think that's the last the peloton will ever see of Cunego - I feel he'll walok this Giro - I just hope old man Piepoli will decide to focus on that mountain jersey

It's interesting to see certain riders overachive to extremes - seems like we have a "form of the tour"-mode enabled. In some of last year's races, lowkey riders made a brilliant performance in a break-away, and then kept the style throughout the tour.
The Voeckler syndrom, I suppose it should be called, and obviously we all know it. I'm happy to see that one of the possible overachievers of this year's Giro is my lieutenant!
Seriously, he's placed 3rd in the PC - that shows he's been at the top of several crazy sprint finishes - because of the ridiculous way the flat stages have been ridden. Now he's 2nd in the GC due to a fantastic move. Great timing and great result.
He still has time to crack seven times, though, and I'm aware that he's no top climber. I hope that Cuapio isn't severely damaged, then!
Amazing productivity, Crue. Like SN and Crommy did it on several occations last season. |

Hushovd really burns through in these stages. Not even the Italian "home-side" bonus is able to strike down the big Norwegian. It's a strange race, seeing that Garzelli and Carrara are at the front almost every time... |

You know form of the day - it's surprising that the brand new feature of PCM 07 is actually in PCM 06, it just doesn't show it, and it doesn't have such a huge effect - except other a longer Tour

What makes Cunego MORE than a superior climber, is the team that we all feared from the first day of the Giro. When his opponents attack, Domina is the team to take ALL responsibility - maglia or not, I would almost think. When Cunego attacks, no team is able to respond. In the mountains, he is able to bring home the victory - strong teams or not, but what he did on stage 7 proves that his enemies simply cannot work together. Look at the kilometers he rode alone!
Before, he was a superior climber - but not greater than Andy. But with the backing he's got in this tour, he is almost superhuman. I hope Riccardo proves us wrong, but I really don't think he will. |
