So, all I've heard thus far is that the game is an even bigger letdown and none of the features promised worked correctly or were even included. Is this true?

This is why I don't actually anticipate the release date for this game, but rather the release date for the PCM.Daily xpac. Normally by that time they have most of the major bugs worked out and we have an awesome database to work with.

This is the wrong question. They are forced to release it at a given point due to contracts with their publisher.
The question should be: Why can't they estimate and plan their work year after year. Maybe they need another project manager? |

No, not really. There are some bugs but there's a lot of good stuff, too. Just need to wait for the proper patch. |

You are right, but i ment the same meaning. Why dont they fix the game breaking bugs sooner, when they know it has to be released in time. I also have the answer ready. Because everybody buys it anyway and majority is happy with broken game, because of gimmick features and promises.
Now they will go on holiday and we will see patch that make career playable in August?

That is why I never pre-order the game or buy it on release.
I call it the battle for stupidity, at the moment the stupidity of the buyers is bigger then the one of the producers/publishers... |

True indeed. I am every year part of that bigger stupidity bunch, i am not sure why i do it every year, probably just nostalgia and inertia.
Or i believe in miracles, that would be playable game before autumn.

every year i know it;s only playable in august/september.. and some years i've been able to hold off buying.. but this last year the first version of pcm 2013 was already pretty playable..
and on the hope of that..
but now with the career bug of transfers there is no reason to play career.. and that's pretty much the only game mode im interested in 
back to 2013 for now |

Got the game yesterday and went directly into career-mode to get a feel for the new stuff and see what game-breaking stuff Cyanide has for us this year.
Simmed ahead to the Giro and watched the stages. I had my team (Astana) on "automatic" so I basically just watched the stages.
Through the first couple of stages Quintana WORST finish on a stage is 8th. That's on pancake flat stages early in the GT, so everyone has fresh legs still. Other GC guys finish way to high as well.
So guess resistance play a part in this, but it's tuned very badly! Will continue to watch all stages in the Giro when I have enough time available, but this could be another frustrating thing we have to wait to get patched in 
I don't know why I buy this so early every year. I KNOW the product isn't finished at all and I have to wait a long time before the game plays decent... |

Don't know. Wasn't intending to release a personal DB this year. And my stats are still miles away from reality. That's because Cyanide's were tons of miles away, but still
