Hushovd not in the sprint as lead-out.
Lampre still got 2 men left.

Monster sprint for Cav, but he went from way too far out. Strong win for Farrar though. |

Farrar.
Cavendish terribly positioned and so had to go for a very long one.

He had a poor position, but he made it easy for Farrar. He allmost did a lead-out for him

I guess Eisel was missing as the last lead out for Cav. So he had to sprint a longer term... Plus he is probably not in his TdF form. |

I think he was afraid the 2 guys in front of him would move to the outside and he would be blocked in. It was a risky move, and didn't pay off even though his sprint was one of the strongest I've ever seen.
What is really bad about this sprint though is what it bodes for the World's. This is a perfect example of why Cav needs his lead-out train to win, and he won't have it in Geelong. |

Positioning or not, Farrar still showed good amounts of power for this late in the season.

What Guido said. Cavendish can pick wheels very well. But today he made a big mistake. I'll imagine he'll learn from this, and if he doesn't, then we should ask questions.
