Either Valverde is still doped, either he was the biggest idiot ever to do that. With his talent, he could've won so much while clean.
How do you know that? He was blood doping and who knows what else, doubt he stopped once banned so yes he certainly is a real racer but noway he is clean
The thing is is he isnt riding clean what does that tells u fron the rest of the riders that came with him in the same time today or has beating him in other races......
Well I do think that a lot of the peloton is doping if that's what you are asking?
Then there is no point in pointing the finger at one dopehead beacuse he won but cheering for another dopehead. Doping has been part of this sport for decades and will always be.

Well, if you single out Valverde as the only suspicious guy among the top-25 today (or any other big race) then you are really naive... My thinking nowadays is that i assume that everyone is doping, make me enjoy the races more
Edit: Only time i don't enjoy it is when the holier then holy SKY-train destroys everyone...

Bar Aliphullipe, the top 5 there and possibly even the top 10 most would have some issue with some sort of doping issue.
Costa, Kreu, Purito, Valverde, henao, AG2R etc.
Really does anyone really believe Valverde win because he cheated in some way that others did not? He is some kind of super responder?
The guy rode super strong there and you have to give him 2015 King of Ardennes hat tip.
Valverde was the best there, the young Etixx dude is going to go away from this with uber hype what an arrival he has had. mientjes too showing hints of greatness.
Katusha played a decent hand right at the end but were rather working for Valverde earlier. Pleased to see a lot of teams attempt to disrupt the inevitable Ans sprint. But sadly three group sprints in the Ardennes, guess it is modern racing.

Valverde - good brief summary from back in 2012 of my feeling: https://inrng.com/...ing-wrong/
Clearly he is not alone but for me his particular stance suggests to me if he could take liberties he would and he wouldn't have a shred of regret about doing so. This could be seen to be a paradoxically honest approach by some while others will consider it abhorrent. I tend to lean towards the latter, especially given the watered down "justice" that was eventually done which he pronounced as such injustice and appealed to every available avenue at the time.
The silver lining is I had him in my fantasy team for just such a...well, silver lining consolation
Now one persons villain is anothers hero and thank god for that. Once again I'm not suggesting he is alone here... |

Fun fact: 2015 is the first time ever that all three Ardennes classics have ended with two or more riders on s.t. as the winner.

Why bar Alaphilippe? If you bother speculating about dopers/non dopers, then surely Team Lefevre must be regarded as one of the more dubious?
Personally, I don't care. There's no way of knowing one way or the other, so I choose to not concern myself about something which I cannot do anything about nor am able to have a qualified opinion about.
And lastly, all the hate towards Valverde is hypocrisy at its utmost.

Its just simply due to the fact that many people (especially in here, it seems) just dont like Valverde because of his past. I dont see that towards other riders with the same past but I have kinda just accepted it for what it is on this forum
I actually enjoyed the race. By far the best ardnees classic this year and much better than past editions

He always was.
Wheelsucking is not against the rules, doping is and what is most sad is when someone does think that he did nothing wrong with doping at that is the case with Valverde.

Speaking of doping. Remember earlier in the season some reporter noticed pills inside Katusha cyclists shorts?
Here's Caruso taking one out of his shorts and taking it

I think it's salt. His coach(Alexander Kristoff's) said that in a interview a while back, if I remember correctly.
Edit: Yes, salt. To prevent cramps. https://www.nrk.no...1.11819232

That's way too elaborate. Why would they hide a magic pill in their shorts, instead of just carrying it in the back pocket like with the rest of their food?

Hidden? If they had wanted to hide it, they would have kept them in their backpocket.
So, yeah, it seems very legit.
