Ciolek confirmed on the Volta a Portugal, let's see how many wins he will grab.
Also, Pardilla and Marcel Wyss will take part in this year's race, the big threats for the Portuguese teams, though this year I can only see Broco, Sousa or Sabido as the national favourites. |

In deed as has been planned for quite a while. He has taken part several times before as well.
Among other big names taking part are Farrar and Kelderman

Just to be beaten by Bos
Besides, it's a shitty small race anyway, who cares?

And Löfkvist, apparently. For some reason I can't understand, he has decided to make it his main goal for the remainder of the season.
No fun in targeting races that actually suit him, I guess...

A hilly stage and a short ITT. Sounds like Lofkvist kinda of race to me.
Anyway, no surprise he wen AWOL after his Tour of Med win, although he did have few typical setbacks.

That's a good point. I forgot how tough the finish in Vejle is.
Might not be such a bad choice after all, then.

Although if he's specifically targeting this race as his big goal.. shame how his carrer started and how is slowly declining now.

Wut? The guy was targeting the Giro only a couple years ago and now the freaking Tour of Denmark is his big goal of the season. That's not slowly, that's a free fall.

Well he has declared he's going for a top 5 in the GC and he won the young riders jersey last year, so he will do his best. Only chance to see him celebrating though will be stage 3 to Vejle

Believe me, I know what he has won
And yeah, actually there aren't a lot of guys that can TT & get over hills participating, so I'm just hoping

In other news.. Cookson just threw away the high ground by getting involved in mudslinging. I mean, I make him right and all, the the attempt to change election rules is desperate and a somewhat dictatorish but it just makes it look like you want an unopposed election. He should have just left it alone imo and stuck to what he would do as UCI presi and just let MqQuaid dig his own grave. |

Sibiu Tour organization: 'Can we have a TTT prologue?'
UCI: Absolutely not. Regulations do not allow it
Volta a Portugal organization: 'Can we have a TTT prologue?'
UCI: Sure

Here's a bit about altitude training and its effect on performances :

So, I guess that's why Quintana is the best climber in the world ? |
