Gesink abandoned?! Oh wait, he said that he didn't feel well yesterday...
We'll never find out what he could have done in Col D'Eze

Really poorly designed stage, imo.
Too hard for the sprinters, but too easy finish to create GC action. And now that we didn't get a successful breakaway, we'll have to watch Sky neutralize a bunch of half-hearted attacks for 30km. Thought the same about this stage last year, and I'm surprised ASO haven't realised it themselves.

So who will have the best chance when/if it comes down to a sprint? Basically all the main sprinters are dropped.

Sagan was dropped some 800km away in central Italy.

It's impressive how this guy not only wins when he wants, but also rides the races he wants, even if two of those clash

How about Dumoulin or Hivert? I just tuned in, but they might be still around and have a good sprint.

Hivert would be my pick as well. He's in good shape at the moment.
Haussler might also be there, but not sure

I hope for the sake of it, a Sky rider does not win this stage as well
Kiyrenka pacing the group excellently so far. Such a shame about the parcours though.

I think the other IAM rider at the very back of the peloton is Haussler. (Tschopp is easy to spot with his KoM jersey, also there are a couple of other IAM riders a bit further up).
Hivert is also in the peloton as we could see now.

So, Haussler vs Hivert today? or some other good sprinters there? guess Gilbert could have a shot also. |

Haussler and Hivert are definitely in the group.
Might be worth watching Albasini as well

I really hope that's not a Tirreno spoiler considering most of us can't watch the Tirreno right now

Is Velits in the group? He has decent sprint.
But Haussler and Hivert should be the favourites, if they are there.
