It's been a fun ride, but all good things must come to an end.
After a decade of running this contest, it's time to announce the final winner.
It's been a pleasure to host, thanks to everyone for participating.
Before I announce the winner, a few notes I'd like to share:

For the first time ever, the Final ends in a tie, 9-9.
How fitting. You couldn't have scripted this outcome any better.
These two fierce rivals still can't be separated after all these years.
By longstanding contest rules, the tiebreaker comes down to my vote.
I never wanted to hold this much power, but here we are at the very end.
The last ever vote of the PCM.Daily Favourite Cyclist Contest.
So, let's try this again.
Your All-Time PCM.Daily Favourite Cyclist is...
* ANDY SCHLECK *
The dramatics of the 2010 Tour de France inspired a young writer to challenge himself and re-write history. That story was published here, Andy Schleck: The Quest for History.
A conquest that was deemed impossible until it was accomplished.
So, making my vote to conclude this contest was a fairly easy one.
While Andy Schleck never got to accomplish anything close to that in real-life, his legacy still lives on. This All-Time PCM.Daily Favourite Cyclist award comes as a final crowning moment for a cyclist who never reached his true potential. A sad story that has been given a happy epilogue.
It's been a blast running this PCM.Daily contest over the last 10 years.
But, it's time for it to come to an end. The timing feels right.
See you around the site, Mre.
Edit: This competition made me rewatch the 2010 Tour. Really miss that year. I feel like the jerseys were much better in those days, Rabo, Euskaltel, HTC, Caisse, Garmin, Bouyges, Liquigas, Milram and even Saxo Bank.
Wonderful ending, though I prefer Contador, Andy is also a worthy winner. I think those battles in 09 and 10 were one of the brightest moments I’ve seen in cycling, so really happy about the tie outcome of voters.
Anyway, thanks for hosting this, Mre, it was really fun throughout the years I was around!
What a finish! Perfect really, my first ever memories of cycling are vague and sometimes clear (chain drop) memories of them in 2009-11, a special duo to be in the final. A tied finale with Mre making the final call as well, perfect

Sad I was away this weekend to not be able to vote. Would have chosen Andy probably also!

I wasn't able to choose. Back then I prefered Schleck, but I really became a fan of Contador because he never stopped trying to attack against a.o. Sky. So I can really live with a tie haha, very fitting indeed for the final round.
Thanks for these years MrE! As you can see from my activity, it's something I came back for every year, even though I haven't been as active as I used to be. So thanks a lot for organizing this fun game!
