Very great race I think. Lots of action in the final 65km or so that I watched. I would have liked a better battle for the win though. After Terpstra went it looked like the group just sat up. Great win for Terpstra though, and great ride by De Bakker and Wiggins.

I dont think Tom gets enough credit for his ride. He did great and I thought he was unlucky no to go all the way and win his 5th. 2 Mechanicals, 40 km pretty much solo (only Thomas and Hushovd helped. P.S why BMC chased Hushovd!?). Apparently it was head wind as well for most of the course.
When the acceleration came at Carrefour he got blocked off by Boom's crash and still came back to the main group together with Terpstra and Wiggins
P.S When was the last time that someone who hasn't made the final selection at Carrefour won the race? I find it crazy.
Fantastic race, definitely rewatching it. Great Ronde and Incredible Roubaix. There's no way Ardennes can top this level of awesomeness? |

For those who wonder why Sagan was not in the front after Arenberg, he apparently crashed and broke his derailleur and after few minutes, he punctured again, so getting back to the front was pretty tough. (maybe this was obvious from tV, but i started watching later)
He says he was watching Cancellara and noone alse in the end, cramps stopped him from sprinting for 2nd after long day...
Anyway Peter seems happy with his performance and says he now feels like he can win races like this in the future.

I hope there's still this explosiveness in the Ardennes Classic.

Er, if Boonen really wanted to win, Terpstra and Stybar would have forced a sprint.

They had to make it hard though, or else Sagan/Degenkolb would take it, what Boonen needed was either to go it alone, or win from a smaller group. |

Didn't see the race (fuckin' plane), but great win for Terpstra. Very happy for him, definetelly deserved it.
Cancellara might have been able to follow him, but as I said no another forum, no way he'll deliver wins to others by counter attacking everyone.
From on what I've seen on a replay this morning on Eurosport, great racing by Boonen. Tough I wonder how fuckin' dumb are Sky by making him helper to Wiggins. And talking about Wiggins, wow.
Thomas might have finished higher than he did definetelly.
Degenkolb, simply amazing. Definetelly one of the most complete rider out there. Beware Sagan. When Vanmarcke accelerated, he was there. He might have won if that group hanged to the end. Chapeau to Bert De Backer as well. |

Of course Niki's ride needs to be posted here from his strava account.

I took it from strava's facebook page. Here's the account of Niki Terpstra, where you can see the whole ride with all segments.
