I recognise that lane, I was there in April.
I had some great gelato in Aosta as well, don't recall the name unfortunately. If you were to visit the city, it's in the lane from the Porta Augusta to the tourist office
Edit: burnt my feet there as well though, except for one white line, just between my foot and toes
