Today, race on second home soil. No idea why though, cobbles here. I say manager I don't like cobbles. Manager says shut up and ride. So I ride.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

The team is doing great so far. Thompson has gone up 1 mountain stat which is great.
And also maybe we could use a different jersey than the Sky pro team. Just a thought but yeh.

if you look closely you notice that we do use a different jersey, what is blue with the Pro Team is green with us

Jakstar22 - Don't see it as a problem using the green version of the Sky jersey, they only rode in it for one race |

Race Report
Maldon Dengie Tour
At the start of the day, the peloton weren't too keen on letting any riders get away, constantly bringing back every group that got away, meaning the pace was very high. Eventually, a group of eight riders got away but they were only allowed three minutes and were brought back just after the third cobbled section.
Not long after, the heavens opened and the race suddenly became a very different challenge. As the peloton headed over one of the off-road sections, it was Leopard-Trek and Miche doing all of the riding as they looked to get Jungels and Franzoi to the finish line first. As expected, Sky were having a tough time, only Hammarling able to save any energy over the cobbles. The rest of the team were battling like crazy to stay in contention.
On the penultimate cobbled section, Franzoi, Jungels and Brambilla rode away from the rest. However, Jungels, clearly the unluckiest man in the world, punctured instantly and that was the end of his day. Hammarling knew he had to go with these two but couldn't stick with them. Despite this, he kept his head down and tried to catch them. These three built up a lead of over two minutes very soon and it was obvious the rest wouldn't catch them.
Despite finally catching the leading duo, it took too much energy and time for Hammarling and he had to settle for third. It was Brambilla who took the win, just outsprinting Franzoi, despite leading the sprint out. Leopard will certainly be relieved at that after what happened to their leader Jungels. Dan Lloyd was the best of the rest, whle all of the other Sky riders came home in the peloton, over five minutes down.

@SSJ2Luigi, yep, none of our riders crashed even though there were tons of them in the race. We had a lucky day.
@Mordekaiser, thanks, we're about 25th in the conti rankings.
@pcm2009fan, it was a typical, lovely British day! Eddie was right at home!
@Jesleyh + mvhoogdalem, he did a superb ride, yes. He rode solo for twenty five km to catch the front two. Just had nothing left at the end unfortunately. |
