This is so weird. I felt so bummed out by the news. RIP Wouter.
I actually shed a tear for him and his family |

Rest in peace Wouter. My prayers go to his family and especially his girlfriend and their unborn child.
I think he was killed instantly. Do we know the cause of the crash? |

Likewise.
Millar has said he is unlikely to wear pink tomorrow and only wore it for a couple of seconds to try it on today. Tributes are still flooding in over Twitter and the like.

Sure? Cyclingnews quotes him:
“I will wear the pink jersey tomorrow, but it will be in memory of Wouter, there is no celebration or glory, only sadness. I will discuss with Tyler [Farrar], Leopard and the family of Wouter what we as a peloton will do tomorrow.”

On a number of sites, including Eurosport, it is said that his pedal got stuck and jammed on the rocks on the side of the mountain, therefore he couldn't pedal, then he was thrown 60m where he landed. (some sites say 20m). Im sure it will all come clear soon. I guess it is likely he died instantly. But still a stage I never want to witness ever again. RIP

According to cyclingnews, he'll wear the maglia rosa as a tribute to Wouter. Then again, it's cyclingnews. Anyway, this is completely unimportant, and whatever he and the whole peloton decide to pay tribute to Weylandt will be good enough. |

Cyclingweekly has him as far from decided - still it's hardly relevant.

The only thing I will get out of these coming weeks of the Giro, is what a fantastic rider he was, what a joy it was to watch a rider of his talent, these coming weeks are about remembering what a fantastic powerful sprinter he was, to me the Giro result this year is not important.

Tomorrow is the Eurovision Song Contest and I have heard that the Belgian artists will wear a mourning band during the performance. |

From Cyclingnews: "Wouter was dropped and tried to come back in the group. He then looked behind to see if it would be better to wait for the other dropped guys," Maertens recalled Cardoso's statements. "While looking behind he hit with his left pedal or left side of his handlebars a small wall and was catapulted to the other side of the road where he hit again something." |

He and Tyler Farrar were so close, brothers if you say. I wonder what Tyler is going to do.....there saying he collapsed at the finish line when he heard of the news. |

What I found most surreal was seeing a picture of him on stage 3, and realising he's about to die.
It's just...I don't know. But it shakes me to my core.
I join the whole cycling world in mourning his loss
