Nice win by Vansummeren. Let´s hope for the Ardennes to be as exciting as the cobbled classics were...
BTW: Vansummeren also won the price for the dirtiest tooth
Now that's what a Paris-Roubaix winner should look like
I love this race

Guess who is in the middle of contract negotiations? I'll give you a clue, he just won roubaix Do you reckon that he implies some sort of usual pattern and assistance for that ?
By the way, I'm not sure it's been mentioned here (I didn't read every page of this thread, sorry guys), but motorcycles are a pain in the bottom of cycling.
It was blatant today in the Carrefour de l'Arbre sector, or maybe it was in the next sector. But by wishing to do so many close ups shots (is any random cycling fan really interested in those), motorcycle drivers remain way too close to riders, and usually in front of them. So they drag the riders (I won't imply that it happens more often with the local riders, although I sometimes can't help thinking it), which upsets me. And, as it happened today, it harms their progression by forcing them to dodge them.
Something should really be done about that. |

Haven`t found it here.
Just read on the Garmin blog, that Vansummeren had a totally flat back tire on the final 5km. Even stronger then to hold Tjallingi and later Cancellara on distance. |

It's worth noting just how brilliant this season's racing has been.
And we haven't even got to the Giro yet

What a great race and as Crommy says what a great season so far. Brilliant, nervy, tactical racing - Cance was again the strongest but couldn't take the win. And nice to see a domestique triumph in the best of the classics. |

Really? The Giro? Isn't that your favourite race? The one which usually makes you go on holiday from your job in order to be able to watch the race? |

Leukemans finished 13th, not Selvaggi. He probrably rode in his bike until the finish, that's why the mistake. |

Yup, I think they really influenced the final result today. A big shame on an otherwise fantastic race. |

By the way, for once Hinault (Bernard) said something relevant : Cancellara should stop complaining about having all the other riders marking him.
30 years ago, when you were Merckx, you also had the whole peloton on your back, and had to deal with it. Yet Merckx managed to cope with that, and quite well, to say the least.
It's Cancellara's team that wasn't strong/smart enough, for not having somebody up front. That way the oldest tactic in cycling could have been applied : "My leader is just behind, I'm not relaying"/"One of my man is in front of the race, I won't help my rivals coming back".

This is what Cancellara himself has been saying in todays post-race interviews, as far as i'm aware |

True. But all week long he was complaining he had had everyone on his back so far. Which was true, don't get me wrong, and it happened once more today. |

Mantova doping investigation + Contador riding will mean this Giro will be very tainted. You also have my sympathies.
If that's any consolation.
There'll still be great racing though

Fantastic PR! Great season so far. Watched a feed on the Internet but wishes I lived in Europe. Only luxury I get is TdF. Cycling is a great sport and I wished it was more popular.
David Veilluix in 26th!!!!! Great showing by him, to bad Rollin wasn't really present. |

Well, that's a bit exaggerate imo, after all both P-N and the Itzulia were pretty poor for their standards. But being freed from Cancellara's yoke in the cobbles feel great, yeah.
Also, the Ardennes and the Giro are right there. That makes for 1 more month of awesome racing assured. |

He actually finished 25th. Even better than you thought.
