OMFG!!! I thought that Sammy would've been 5th after this stage. But finishing 4th here gives him not only the lead, but also the points jersey! This is just amazing... Now there's only to hope for no accidents and no top 3s for Di Luca...
Thor Hushovd for a stagewin if even luckier... So far beautiful! |

I'm quite dissapointed by di Luca, but on the other hand I shouldnt be complaining. He's still second, with a stagewin already. Rogers now took a stage and is up to 11th in GC, not to mention Bennati who's got 2 stage already, with an option for two more plus the points jersey.
I reckon I'll be in the lead in the PT by a solid margin after this race. di luca should score 180 (2nd GC) +40 (stage) = 220.
Rogers 40 (stage) +55 (11th GC) = 95
Bennati: 2*40=80 already from two stage, with another 80 in stage waiting and 40 for the points = 200 pts.
Total of around 500 points, not bad at all
Also, that should be enough for Bennati to easily take the lead in the individual standings, with Zabriskie not scoring
I reckon I will be solid 2nd Samuel Sanchez winning the race. 3 days in the sprint jersey, 2 third places already and 2 flats for a possible Hushovd to compete... |

In terms of Eurosport, I was hoping Kloden and Mancebo might have done a bit better in this race. Mancebo is the best placed Eurosport guy - 44th on GC.
Considering they're both similar in stats to Basso who's in or close to the top 20, that's not good.
Having said that, I didn't look at the profile properly due to time constraints. Thought there was a moutain in the last couple of stages - but, that's the real life one.

Indeed. That was a good choice... Niemiec has been doing well above his stats so far... |

So, when Vantomme finally manages to get a good position, he's not strong enough to overtake Bennati despite being on his wheel. Hopefully due to the hill.
Third is decent, though. |

One can only presume Virgin sprinters were once more dropped

It's fine, I've accepted the fact that other than Qatar if I see my sprinters near the sprint end of a race, it'll be just short of a minor miracle.

Thor Hushovd is dissapointing me. He should atleast once get a 2nd spot! Hopefully he will do whatever it takes to win the final stage... |

Good for Vespa. We demand a Wild Card to the Giro di Lombardia.
5 Francesco Ginanni Vespa-Caffrey's + 53
20 Ivan Basso Vespa-Caffrey's + 3'20
26 Paolo Bettini Vespa-Caffrey's + 3'56
28 Lorenzo Bernucci Vespa-Caffrey's + 4'13
37 Gabriele Bosisio Vespa-Caffrey's + 4'47
49 Alessandro Proni Vespa-Caffrey's + 5'36
60 Danilo Napolitano Vespa-Caffrey's + 7'33
110 Luca Ascani Vespa-Caffrey's + 21'59
Very bad for Eurosport. Planned on the team getting a few more points here.
44 Francisco Mancebo Eurosport + 5'10
58 Peter Velits Eurosport + 7'00
69 Andreas Klöden Eurosport + 9'26
76 Sergei Lagutin Eurosport + 10'24
80 Stefano Garzelli Eurosport + 10'54
97 Jürgen Van de Walle Eurosport + 15'37
117 Marco Pinotti Eurosport + 30'34
Also, good to see some 'decent' sprints, even if Bennati completely dominated them. |

Nooooooooooooooo!!

Anyway, I'm quite happy with this race. Made my sponsor goal with 2nd overall, and I won 5 out of the 7 stages |
