Oh maaan. We walk away from this race almost empty handed, when we really needed a result. Now CT-division looks inevitable.
Thanks alot for the great reports! |

Genii's promotion hopes took a massive hit
With Tour of Britain now concluded, the promotion battle in CT will go down the wire. 3 CT teams went to the UK for a chance at ranking points, but out of the three only Genii Hyundai N Cycling has the chance to go to PCT next season. All hopes were on Kristian Haugaard Jensen to get a huge score, but instead he was nowhere to be found finishing in a dismal 83rd. But it's not like the team left empty handed - Manuel Stocker got 3 points for finishing 5th in Stage 1, but the bulk of points (27 points) were scored from Sarris Evangelos who took the lead in U25 after Stage 2, but then after Stage 3 he swaped the white jersey for the polka-dot one. He wore it through the final stages and won the KoM standings, which added 20 vital ranking points.
With 30 points (that's only provisional calculations as the rankings are yet to be released) the team slashed their deficit to 5th place Duvel-Tsingtao to 37 points and took 6th place back from Team Würth MODYF. It seems that the promotion battle is going to reach its final showdown in Zuri Metzgete, but Team Würth MODYF has an ace of its sleeve - Giro del'Emilia, a race in which neither of their promotion rivals will take part. Spark Team NZ seems the team with an outside chance as they are 112 points behind 5th place and 74 points behind 7th place. Their hope is for Beltran to win the race, but with only 50 points being awarded for a win, sadly it won't be enough.
Also, IESE wants to congratulate all winners and reporters for this amazing race

Oh so the pure puncheurs performed the best on the long climbs instead? What kind of upside down game engine is this?
Bagioli performs well on the one stage that he shouldn’t have, and basically doesn’t exist in those that he should have been competitive. Absolutely nothing has gone our way here - Yudha doesn’t even bother attempting to get in the break where he would have been hard pressed to not have won the KOM, Tesfastion having a highlight race and taking any u25 opportunity away from Bagioli, and of course Bagioli being the worst ranked leader in the final GC due to reasons. Literally could not have been worse - at least Bagioli sat up when he realised he was about to help Buchmann to the stage win and probable GC congrats on the huge win Blasing, happy to see you get such a win. Thank you for the reports also!

Phenomenal race from JEWA, absolutely crushed it! Congrats Blasing, what a huge bump in the survival battle. Did not see that coming, but I guess it serves me right for having sold you Arndt.
Good race from Stannard, but there was always an edge he just coulcn't reach. Hopefully it keeps us in the fight.
Thanks again for all the reports Ulrich, beautifully done!

An anonymous race in the end, but we do end up with two riders between 10th and 15th in the GC so some points flow our way.
Thanks for the reports and congrats Blasing

Well this was shit. Very curious what the gaps are in the promotion battle now with UBS scoring decent points here. Thanks for the report and congrats Blasing!

Very strong depth result here from ISA. I wonder if it was enough to strike back to take the PCT title :-)

Congrats Blasing on a big win and thanks to Ulrich for the fine last reports!
APP always finishing at the back of the lead groups clearly wasn't what we were hoping for, but we'll take the couple of points we get here and will end the season with 1/5 goals (baring we stay in the top 15).

Congrats to Blasing and thank you Ulrich, this race has been thrilling from start to finish. The stakes have been high for us and Buchmann has risen to the challenge well enough (though a podium would have been better). All respect to Eden and Kaiser as we battle it out here in the home stretch.

WOW JUST WOW. I was hoping that Arndt would give me some point after buying him but so far the season was a dissapointment. But he made up for it all in this race! 2 stage wins, a 3rd place and a GC win, never ever did I expect this!
This could really save us from relegating.
Thanks for the great reports on this exciting stage race. A big battle!

Nice race by Sosa, If he were a better sprinter we might have snatched the victory. This might be a race that needs the alternate bonus seconds to break up he s.ts.
Congrats to JEWA on the big win.

A good race to close the season for Démare. As I had suspected, the new profile just doesn't have the long climbs or pure climbing kilometres that are necessary to dislodge the puncheurs. We could've even hoped for more from Démare, but I am happy to settle with a classification and 10th overall. Not bad work from the supporting cast either. Thanks for the reporting UU.
