That was really out of left field there, really didn't expect Theuns to fight it out but what can I say Amazing performance by him and also Masnada as Fab pointed out. Love it. Thanks Abhi!

Great to see Quita with his compatriot Carcueva in the break. He's already trying to prove he's worth his big pay check!
Congrats on the stage win quadsas, hope there are still plenty of sprint wins to come this season |

For a moment it looked like Mareczko was going to get a few points, but status quo for Oomen is good enough! Congrats DK on winning so quick!
Great reports so far, keep them coming!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Sprinting in PCM18 is a damn mess
Thrilled with the fact we even wore the GC jersey here, hopefully Ricki can still pop-up something in the remaining opportunities. Although i fear it's over the random breakaway hopes now.

Just an update on the posting schedule:
There will be two stages tomorrow as well, but then I'll put up one a day for stages 6 to 9.

Baltic Dzomination
Absolutely love this result. Proves me right that Dzama was the right guy to send as sprint leader to this race while i also like Dzervus as a winner. Congrats quadsas!
The next stage could be crucial. Probably the toughest "hilly" stage so it could be very important for Lopez to have a good day here. I guess the GC picture will be a bit clearer after the stage.

With Jack Bobridge already showing his great potential and 2019 form in the second stage, it's at least nice to see Gunman and Hamilton going for KoM honours. Seems to be our only hope for this race now.

Pretty sure we've had a pretty decent first 3 stages here tbh, Meintjes limiting his losses well in the prologue and Bar actually showing his worth with probably his best result for the team so far. Hopefully we can navigate the hilly stages very well like last year, as we really need to in order to have a faint chance of a podium.

Close to perfect result. Another second place adds to the stage scoring and Lopez is now 2nd in GC + Points + KoM + we are first in the team classification. If we can continue like that, this will be a fantastic scoring for Evonik.
GC wise Pluchkin was and is the big favourite and should take this home unless the easier hilly stages prove to be extremely selective which is unlikely. Gesink losing 33s on top of bonus seconds could be huge for us with further gaps or bonus seconds, we might have a chance to compensate for his TT skills although thats still somewhat unlikely.
Kudus, Choi & others were strong today and we will have to see how much that carries over to further stages.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Bobridge is no shocker.
My team actually knows this and at least we're showing off in breakaways.

Bobridge 2019: 13th, + 23"
Bobridge 2020: 46th, + 2'56"
wtf...
Great stage by Pluchkin and MAL, obviously! Kudus makes it a pretty good start of the season for Repsol, while Gesink definitely isn't where he was expected to be. Way to go...
Personally, really happy to see Masnada up there with guys like Aru or Elissonde
Thanks for another great report, Abhi! Really fun reading them, especially having reported the same stages last season

Same stage but kind of different startlist!
Makes a huge difference if riders such as Pluchkin, Lopez make a high pace in attack with riders such as Gesink already struggling or riders like Bratashcuk steadily dieseling the climb with riders such Kirsch/Talansky being the initiators of the stage.
Riders such as Sagan/Bakelants show that ~74/80+ riders can perform well on that stage, but the better climbers attack, the more the "puncheurs" struggle obviously on that long climb. |

Another ok result from Oomen, losing time on Choi was a bit unexpected but I can live with this.

Siskevicius losing a ton of time does not bode well for good depth GC scoring, but that sure does open up a possibility of some breakaway wins for us. Benat also in scoring position is decent, going up a few places would do wonders, 100+ points from this will be sufficient

Strong performance by Karnulin!
And nice break appearance by Furdi. Lots of KoM points and time spent on camera.
