Thanks for another amazing report!

What a sprint by Degenkolb! I'm very happy for Scorchio, representing South America in the PT Smile Also, MGUCI should really have a talk with the officials in Qatar, those car and motorbike drivers are really nuts Pfft

It's actually for those pictures that reporting is fun Grin
And it was good to see that sprint trains CAN actually work, if they get their timing right Smile Degenkolb was really amazing in this sprint - I waited for him to finally fade, but he just didn't. Well done!

Grosu already falling from grace. Missing out on the top 10 is really disappointing as it results in losing the race lead as well.

Looks like last seasons edition, only with us not forming a train. I wonder what the difference will be overall. I guess a significant wage reduction is in place if Coquard is performing like a random 10-15th sprinter in races like this.

Oh well, we always knew that it was better to have a sprinter whose a bit worse for some reason, so I’m happy to have a mediocre sprinter in races without Coquard.

Absolutely phenomenal report Fabianski! The amount of detail is just crazy. Such a great read. Thank you. And a very competitive sprint today, good stuff.

It may seem strange, but the tactic used by my riders is in fact the best since we did not form a train. Each one runs by themselves and thus Silvestre has the possibility to obtain a good result in the GC if he manages to improve a few seconds of bonus because with 77prl he can make the difference in the decisive stage.

Terrible stage for MVS - good to see that he claimed a few seconds and points in the intermediate sprint but 10th is just too far below expectations and doesnt help us. We need more!

Another great result for Holloway - only the unfortunate photo finish and the
3 seconds at the intermediate sprint from Degenkolb, in addition to the stage win, denying a surprise spell in the race lead.

With two Top 4 finishes already, I can hardly complain if he misses any sprints hereafter - but I can also start to dream of continued consistency, and a possible final GC position!

Absolutely brilliant report! That was tense Grin

Was really happy to see Anderberg up front and even grab the three bonus seconds. Must admit I started dreaming of a final GC top 20 here, only to see him loose contact in the final kilometers and miss out on everything he worked so much for. Though, still very happy we continue to be active and aim for breakaway attempts. I can't ask for more, and having both Yzeiraj and Anderberg trying their luck is a nice start Smile

Big win for Scorchio and his PT ambitions, congratulations! Good to see his star signing get that one, as they've done better than most proper trains we saw last year already with this win.

Thanks for the congrats on stage 2 folks. Quite a relief after stage 1 looked great for 98% of the time then hard fail in the last km or so. On stage 1, Degenkolb struggled to come in much in front of lead-out Petit, so wonder if he was on a bad daily form day? Stage 2 in contrast a strong sustained finish to reward the teams work in setting things up. 2 stages not a large enough sample to deduce any solid conclusions, but I certainly can't complain about the work rate from the team thus far. Coquard's virtual no-show in the first two sprints is hard to fathom though, sure he will impose himself in at least one of the sprints still to come.

Having the leaders jersey gives me concern that stage 1 outcome more likely in todays stage as ISA - Hexacta will surely be leaned on heavily to police the BotD, and hence might be tired/early setting up lead-out if a sprint eventuates. On the other hand, the leaders jersey can sometimes prove an excellent morale boost that might help Degenkolb versus his sprint rivals. Whatever the case, has been great to see the colourful new jersey interpretation all over the screen-shots; the team has been demonstrating it's commitment to Degenkolb with everyones hard work out on the road Smile.

Thanks for the detailed reports, helps greatly in interpreting what exactly happened, and builds plenty of tension for this reader at any rate!

Missing out bonus seconds in such race isn`t ideal clearly but competition is high. Was surprised how far behind he suddenly was after being in a good position. But obviously struggled to follow the higher flat engines there, which proved vital on that high speed finish.

Great report and congrats for that Degenkolb win!

Rather disappointing outing from Wohler in the break. In a race like Qatar, it's always nice to have someone snatching bonus seconds in a break and with Wohler's TT skills, it would have been a nice one here.. wasted opportunity!

Howard consistent, which is nice though. 6-6-7 so far.. Given the field, I consider this as a success. Obviously in need of at least one stellar stage result, if we want to be in the mix for the GC's Top-10 though.

I have no clue what MVS was doing here and that pains me. By now, he is in big danger of being overtaken by every single tt guy in the epilog so this race could end up terrible despite the good start on stage 1. he better add another podium or two top 5 to his name ...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Extra bonus seconds for Arashiro again. Cant be mad with that.

When being that close to win, 4th almost looks like a loss.
That said, 4th in that field is a great result anyway, so I can't complain at all. After a day outside the top10, some important bonuses this way.

Van der Hoorn as top flat guy ignoring it in the break was weird but okay. At least the first break of the season for the team. And by a rider I want to see in those a lot.

Congrats SotD. Nice win for Coquard.

Not good enough.

Thanks for another brilliant report!

Well, that's more like how I expected every sprint to go for Holloway, so fair enough.

Thanks Roturn!

Nice to get a win here which also gives a good chance for atleast top 10 GC for Coquard even with some bad days. So far everything seems very similar to last season, but using 450-500K less in wages to get that up’n’down result...

Cool to see that Laporte is still so high up in the GC. Not much going on for us otherwise. Great stuff Fabianski!
