Michele Scarponi
Scarponi will be a crucial helper for Nibali in the mountains.
Ivan Basso
The third former GT-winner on the team. As fro Scarponi Basso now has to realize he is only a super domestique for Nibali at this point
Domenico Pozzovivo
Pozzovivo is a strong climber in his own right, but in this race he has to support his captain.
Marco Pinotti
As 6-times Italian TT-champion Pinotti will be a very important rider of the Team Time Trial.
Damiano Cunego
Damiano had a massive breakthrough when he won the Giro back in 2004, but he hasn't been able to show that level in the biggest mountain since. For this race he is a pure domestique, who will be very important for Nibali on the hilly stages.
Dario Cataldo
Another strong domestique chosen with the TTT in mind
Adriano Malori
Another former Maglia Rosa wearer, who will be an important rider in the TTT
Andrea Guardini
Andrea is allowed to chase some good stage positions on the flat stages, but he shouldn't expect to get much help.

Robert Gesink: our leader who will try to get a top 3 ranking and a stage victory
Bauke Mollema: Gesink’s right hand and our plan B in case something happens with Robert.
Wilco Kelderman: our third climber who will try to get the white jersey and support Gesink
Wout Poels, Tom-Jelte Slagter, Johnny Hoogerland and Laurens Ten Dam: will take turns in attacking at the end of harder stages, when not in a breakaway they'll help our leaders. Hoogerland will also try to win the KOM
Lars Boom and Lieuwe Westra:Will get in early breakaways in the hilly stages, do their work at the TTT and protect our leaders in the flat stages

France come to the race hoping for plenty of success. Thomas Voeckler will lead the hunt for stage wins and the polkadot jersey, with Pierre Rolland attacking the GC. Along with Thibaut Pinot, he should be able to get into the top-10 overall.
The French do not only come for the mountains however. Nacer Bouhanni and Arnaud Demare are very capable of sprinting with the best and will be targeting the top-10 when the road falls flat. These two can be helped on the flat days by riders like Damien Gaudin and Sylvain Chavanel, who are great on the flat.
That is not all though. In Jeremy Roy, Sylvain Chavanel and Romain Bardet we bring three breakaway specialists, who could all get stage wins with some luck. Bardet could be a great secret weapon with his climbing abilities in a breakaway. Chavanel is great on the flat and in the TT's which could show as he tries to hold off the peloton.

It is hard to look past the country's best stage racer for the captain role. It's even harder to look past the only rider who can both climb AND do time trials.

Michael Albasini
Michael will be the co-leader, together with Fabian. He is known as an excellent puncher, and he is exspected to win one of the Ardennes Classics within a few years. He will hunt for stages.
Fabian Cancellara
He is an obvious leader of the Switzerland squad. Not only is he known as one of the best cyclists, but he is also very sympathic, which explains his popularity. Fabian will go for stage wins as well.
Matthias Frank
He has already showed some good results this year, including a very good performance in his home Tour. The field here is much stronger though. Matthias might however be the biggest surprise this edition.
Oliver Zaugg
Oliver stunned many cycling fans in the autumn of 2011. He beat everyone in the classic of the falling leafs. Everyone has kept an eye on him since then, but he might still be able to surprise us all.
Martin Elmiger
Martin is a breakaway specialist. He has not had very much luck so far this year. He already came 2nd this year 3 times, on both Swiss NCs and in the Tour of Qatar. He now wants a win and is determined to do so.
Steve Morabito
Steve is one of the many climbers Switzerland has. He already came 2nd in the Tour of Austria, a Tour that contains many climbs. He has been in the shadow the last few years, but this is the time to get rid of it.
Gregory Rast
Gregory Rast is known as the major helper of Cancellara. He helped him this year to victory in both the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix. This Tour, he will once again serve Cancellara.
Michael Schar
Michael has also had the honor to join the swiss squad. He is known as a good time trialist, cobbler and worker. For the last specialty, working, he has been brought in this squad. He might surprise in a break though.
Johan Tschopp
Johan will be here as well. As many other riders of this squad, he will aim on stage wins. Thanks to his good qualities in the mountains, he will surely be able to hunt for both stages and polkadots.

PRZEMYSŁAW NIEMIEC
Niemiec will be Majka's main helper with mountains, might get own chance as well.
MICHAŁ KWIATKOWSKI
Kwiatek, current Polish NC champion, will get a free role, we hope for a good TT positions as well as some successes on hilly stages and fight for KoM jersey.
TOMASZ MARCZYŃSKI
After 13th positon in Vuelta, popular "Maniek" will be another crucial Majka's helper in mountains.
MACIEJ BODNAR
A helper whom every team would love to have, Body will help us on flat and try his luck in TT as well.
MICHAŁ GOŁAŚ
Michał will be another useful helper on both flat stages and hilly ones, probably will also try breakaways.
SYLWESTER SZMYD
An experienced gregario, who won on Mont Ventoux in 2009, will be a great asset for our team in mountains.
BARTOSZ HUZARSKI
He will be a help on hilly stages, will also try to breakaway.
MARCIN SAPA
Experienced, 36-year old former Lampre rider, will help on flat stages.
