@ admir - Thanks. He's still not at great form, otherwise he'd probaably have stuck around more.
@ Jak - Yeah, I thought I'd won the race, but then Oss just flew past everyone. Thanks

Thanks a lot guys! Im pretty happy with the results Im getting so far, just that none of the results are with Hugo
Strade Bianche
March 3rd, 2013

Today could be anyones race! The dirt wont make as much of an impact as cobblestones might, but Im sure someone will use it to their advantage! I think the plan is to work for Nocentini and the course looks perfect for me to get into the breakaway. If the favourites make late attacks, I'll hopefully still be up front and can give Nocentini a team-mate in the latter part of the race.

Well I tried to get into the breakaway, but I just wasn't being allowed by the other teams. They chased me down right away, so I played the role of ultra-teammate and grabbed bottles at the halfway point.

The two biggest riders in the break where Menchov and Cunego, who were somehow allowed to get clear, but I wasn't. Not sure on that one, but thats the way it goes. I guess I've under-rated myself....

But anyway, they are caught so its pointless to worry about anyway, I doubt I could have changed anything. We made a brief move with Montaguti but he was brought back quickly, and the inevitable sprint looked like it was going to happen for sure as the teams started to form trains. No attacks in the final kms and the riders begin the dash to the line!

Gatto took a good line, and started his sprint at the perfect time. No one could come around him, and once again an AG2R rider picked the right wheel to follow, this time its Nocentini who grabs the team a brilliant 2nd place.
Meanwhile I couldn't get into the top group as I missed the gap, but I did a great job of bridging with a few other riders and I grabbed a Top 25, which is a sign of slow improvement for me. Im happy with the result. Team did well too!

23rd is good for Houle. And your team should hire Marcato, he definetelly will improve the 2nd place consistency. |

@Admir - thanks! Hugo got stuck in the "slow" peloton but I caught it late and he joined some of the stragglers from the front group and sprinted with them
@ Miguel - Yeah, pretty good I'll think about it. Its too late now obviously being mid March.
I'll probably put up one more classic tonight, as Im enjoying this a lot, so stay tuned.

Good race for Nocentini! And not bad for Houle, sitting in 23rd.

@ sutty- Thanks. Great result for the team! Indeed Hugo did well. I dont know if he could have done much better.
@ NTTHRASH- Thanks.
@ Jak- Yeah! The team is doing great right now. Its unfortunate of the doping in real life. I'll probably address that

Nokere - Koerse
March 14th, 2013
Today I have to get into the break. The team has a good shot at a Top 10 here but the terrain I think will suit me well. Plus I dont have many days left to get into the breakaway, if Im going to reach my goals for the first quarter of the season. The weather isn't very nice today either, that means a break may have more of a chance to stay away!

Well I stuck to my plan and got into the breakaway! Solo..... Until I was joined a little later on by 4 other riders, all grown up cobblestone regions so I was already at a disadvantage. We spent most of the day out front, but things cant last forever.

As I said, we got brought back, but I wasn't satisfied with 20km left, so I went on the attack again. It would be to no avail though, as it would only delay being caught, but I'd say its worth two breakaways.... Now down to the sprint, and we had our guys placed poorly.

The ageless wonder, Eeckhout won the stage, Mondory was able to grab 9th, but I think under better circumstances we could have done a little better. Still I think I represented the team well and a Top 10 is always alright. Obviously being in the break, I dropped right back once I was caught, so 86th, shouldn't be looked down upon.

Thanks! Really happy with his breakaway efforts. Mondory has been good too. Was a little boxed in though.
