Today Zabel won the stage... Little disspoint that Marcel Wust don´t do top ten in this kind of stages.. Maybe tomorrow he can win..who knows.. Anyway Zabel Vainsteins and McEwen are in a superb form... For my team was a relax day Jalabert is still in yellow

Stage 8 : Limoges - Villeneuve-sur-lot, 203.5 km
Another 200 kilometre plus stage, this takes the riders on a gradual downhill run from Limoges to Villeneuve-sur-Lot. A few minor category climbs will see the early leader in the polka dot jersey try and keep hold of it for just a few more stages.
Difficulties
Km 11.0 - Côte de Petit Puy-Mathieu - 4.1 km at 4.6% (Cat. 3)
Km 70.0 - Côte de Hautefort - 1.8 km at 4.3% (Cat. 4)
Km 85.0 - Côte de La Bachellerie - 3.3 km at 4.4% (Cat. 4)
Km 185.0 - Côte de Monflanquin - 1.7 km at 4.4% (Cat. 4)

Stage 10 : Dax - Lourdes Hautacam, 205 km
The moment of truth has arrived and now the world will see who are the real potential winners of the Tour De France. There should be cold and wet conditions, especially on the highest climb of the Col d'Aubisque. After 112km of relatively flat racing, the peloton hits the steep side of the 1035m Col de Marie Blanque (9.2km @ 7.7% average grade).
After a 15km descent and transition, it's the tough 1709m Col d'Aubisque, again from the steep side (16.5km @ 7.1% average grade), followed by the climb and descent of the Col de Soulor down to Argeles-Gazost. Then it's the final steep climb to the finish to Loudes Hautacam at 1520m (13.5km @ 7.9% average grade).
With such an open race in this year's Tour De France, it will be a very interesting stage. Will Jalabert hang on to his Maillot Jaune? Perhaps...he's strong and motivated and a good climber, but ONCE may not want the race lead anymore.
Will Pantani go on the attack? Likely if his legs feel good, especially on the final climb to Hautacam he knows well. But the cold weather may slow the tiny Italian from his usual accelerations. Also in attack mode will certainly be Richard Virenque; He's already 6'00 down on top GC favorites. Virenque is likely to be joined by Alex Zülle and Fernando Escartin, who also lost considerable time in the TTT last Tuesday.
Difficulties
Km 76.5 - Côte de Barcus - 2.4 km climb at 6.9 % (Cat. 3)
Km 120.5 - Col de Marie-Blanque - 9.2 km at 7.7% (Cat. 1)
Km 158.5 - Col d'Aubisque - 16.4 km at 7.2% (Cat. HC)
Km 168.5 - Col du Soulor - 2.3 km at 4.2% (Cat. 2)
Km 205.0 - Lourdes-Hautacam - 12.9 km at 8.5% (Cat. HC

In the early kms i try to put my team leading the peloton because i´m the maillot jaune!!

..but in the last twoo climbs of the day Us Postal takes the lead.. And my team starts to suffer.. Pantani Ullrich and Armstrong look confortable in the first positions, so i try to keep Olano and Jalabert near of them.. In the Aubisque attacks Escartin and Piepoli

Escartin and Piepoli leads the stage.. But in the main group Armstrong launch the first attack in Hautacam at 10 km to the finish..

Beloki, Pantani Ullrich and Jimenez go in persecution of Armstrong

..Attacks by Pantani, Ullrich,Beloki,Jimenez and Virenque..Olano is crack and Jalabert is trying to catch them with the Help of Botero and Beltran ..

.. The speed is infernal and is imposible for my rider Laurent Jalabert to keep in touch with Botero and Beltran.. Virenque is crack..Olano is not too bad ..But Armstrong is superb to everybody..Now 1 minute behind of him were Pantani , Ullrich, Jimenez and Beloki..
Here the images.. We can see up the group of Pantani..little back is the group of Botero.. Virenque is little back and Jalabert is suffering .. Olano is more back..

Only 1 km to the finish line, and Armstrong catch Escartin and Piepoli and won they in the Sprint..So Armstrong win in Hautacam..

Little far away Ullrich Attacks Pantani and Chava Jimenez and takes the 4th position ..Pantani was 5th,Jimenez 6th and Beloki 7th

I try desesperatly to conserv the leader but at the end i can´t .. Anyway Jalabert sprint so well and not to far from The group Of Botero and Virenque..Olano went to the finish line little back near of Heras

..and this was the result of today..

.. And The General Classification after stage 10 is the next.. Lance Armstrong is now the leader..I´m 2th with Jalabert at 1.50" and 7th with Olano at 4.36".. Pantani Ullrich Beloki,Botero and Escartin are very near and dangerous..but i think i can fight with they .. Tomorrow the stage 11

Thank you..i think i have to change the strategy and try to attack earlier if i wanna win the tour...But is difficult,, The cheat is intratable and I Think 5 or 6 riders were more strong than Jalabert and Olano..but i´m a fighter!!!!

Stage 11 : Bagneres-De-Bigorre - Revel, 218.5 km
After the previous day's mountainous struggle, this stage will give the lesser riders a chance to shine before the rest day tomorrow. The stage profile is lumpy, but not too tough compared to what is coming up.
Difficulties
Km 15 - Côte de Mauvezin - 2.8 km climb at 6.4% (Cat. 3)
Km 17 - Côte de Capvern - 1.6 km climb at 5.2% (Cat. 4)
Km 109.5 - Côte de Saint-Christaud - 2.0 km climb at 5.8% (Cat. 4)
Km 115.5 - Côte de Cabagnous - 1.0 km climb at 4.8% (Cat. 4)
Km 121.5 - Côte de Montesquieu - 1.7 km climb at 6.2% (Cat. 4)
Km 212.0 - Côte de Saint-Ferréol - 3.6 km climb at 4.4 % (Cat. 3)

McEwen won the stage, Zabel was second..and I catch some seconds with Jalabert in the bonification...I try to do something in the finish line with him because the end was little hill and i´m 6th in the stage..But tomorrow is my day i Hope with the Mont Ventoux..

Stage 12 : Carpentras - Mont Ventoux, 149 km
Le Mont Ventoux means the windy mountain in French; so beware! The big bad wolf of Le Mont Ventoux awaits Le Tour on Thursday and the strong mistral wind of Provence is gonna' blow.
It's a short but intense stage with a mountaintop finish atop the extinct volcano, nicknamed Le Geant de Provence for the way it dominates the local landscape. Expect Kelme to go on the attack again early, to go for the stage win. Le Mont Ventoux is classified as a 21km climb with an average grade of 7.6%, but in reality the first 4km are only 3%. Then, at the famous sharp lefthand hairpin "virage di St.Esteve" with 17km to go, the road gradient increases to over 9% and heads into the rocky, forested slopes of Le Ventoux until the road emerges from the woods at Chalet Reynard. After St. Esteve is the steepest part of Le Ventoux where GC leaders like Maillot Jaune Armstrong, Telekom's Ullrich and Festina's Moreau will be eyeballing each other, awaiting the inevitable attacks from climbers like Virenque, Pantani and Escartin.
At Chalet Reynard with 6.5km to go, Le Ventoux becomes lunar in appearance, strewn with with a bright white limestone scree, utterly denuded of vegetation. This part is less steep than the forested part (6%), but the riders will undoubtedly face extreme conditions; cool temperatures (6 degrees celcius), excacerbated by a strong mistral. In fact, tommorrow's forecast from Le Provence, the local newspaper calls for a sunny morning, with clouds appearing in the afternoon, and a possible storm front by late afternoon. Winds over 40km/hr, are forecast, with higher gusts up to 60km/hr near the 1909m summit of Le Mont Ventoux. If a storm does come in and rain and sleet hit the peloton as it did on Tuesday's L'Etape du Tour, it will certainly decimate the already exhausted riders.
Difficulties
Km 41.5 - Col de Murs - 10.3 km at 4.4% (Cat. 2)
Km 75.0 - Côte de Javon - 7.6 km climb at 3.7% (Cat. 2)
Km 99.0 - Col de Notre-Dame-des-Abeilles - 7.8 km at 4.0% (Cat. 2)
Km 118 - Côte de Mormoiron - 1.8 km climb at 5.8% (Cat. 4)
Km 149.0 - Mont-Ventoux 21 km at 7.6% (Cat. HC)

And Armstrong won again..He attacks at 5kms to the end ..with him was Pantani, Ullrich and Jimenez but Only Jimenez have the legs to be with him ..In the sprint wins the stage.. Unfortunately I lost with Jalabert more than 4"minutes and with Olano more than 5".. so the general is imposible i think i have to change the strategy..

Here is the General after Mont Ventoux
