A stage win and the young riders is still a great result.

@Jakstar22 Yep.
@Ian Butler Some good riding from Kittel
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Le Tour De Langkawi - Stage One
Possibly the longest race on my calendar and I come here as a leader. I'll be facing off with stiff competition but with my climbing skill coupled with my time trialling I have a good shot at the overall. I am a leader yet there are some people to take over if needed. I won't be racing too much after this as I'll have a small break with the cobbled classics up coming riders like Sinkeldam peaking.
I was to be the best rider on the team, a leader and have some good form coming into the race. The only risk was big name riders getting in the way.
So, as you can see, an overall flat time trial with a few lumps. I should be quite suited to it but it will be interesting to see if I can grab a jersey at the end of the day.
Bobridge was leading by the time I had come out of the starting gate and second place was Bookwalter. I could grab a top ten with luck and speed.
Off the ramp...
Final 2.5 km...
Come on! I can do this!
One km to go now and I have a rider in my sights.
I won't catch him but it is a great motivational boost!
My legs are about to burn up!
Provisional second place... by two seconds!
Schumacher, Hincapie and possibly Casar are the only potential challengers left now! Le Mevel is at this tour as well and this is one of the areas I can gain time on him.
Schumacher has had a bad day! He is in sixth despite being a favourite!
Hincapie next...
Bad luck! 14th for Hincapie.
One true threat left, Casar. No matter what happens though, I am on the podium!
9th! That leaves me in the points jersey for tomorrow! I came so close to a win there though... Two seconds...

I know. Normally, a short prologue would leave him stranded as he is better at longer time trials but this one was 20kms and he had good fitness |

Stage 2, 3 and 4
Robert Hunter was king on stage one. Our sprinter, Robert (Kluge) was unlucky as he launched his sprint very late and was held up. Looks promising for the future however. I retained white but lost green.

Belleti was incredibly powerful and took the stage by force. Unfortunately the lack of a train stopped Kluge winning but he took third plae still. I kept white. Unfortunately some late problems caused some of the ARgos riders to lose time.

Finally is stage four. It was our worst stage yet though with Robert down in ninth. Blythe won and I once again stayed in white. Tomorrow is the first stage I can have a go on and although it is classified as flat I feel I have a chance on it.

Thank you guys for the patience and sorry for the short reports, these stages were unimportant for Fabian though, I'll try and keep it going a bit longer now and when we hit Christmas reports will come thick and fast (hopefully!). |
