Plain Profile Col de Bagenelles Col de Platzerwasel Le Grand-Ballon Col du Hundsruck Le Ballon d'Alsace Ultimi chilometri
2nd and hardest day on Vosges, up & down with Platzerwasel and Grand-Ballon as hardest climb... then the stage will be decided by the 1st climb of the TdF: le Ballon d'Alsace. It won't be climbed from the hard side, but never say never, there is enought terrain before to make this an epic medium-mountain stage!
Stage 10: Villefranche-sur-Saône > Yenne 179,5 km
Plain Profile Mont du Chat Last kms
After the rest day, it's Alps time. The first of three Alpine stage will feature the Mont du Chat, climbed in 1978 from the easiest side. Now will be more hard to get alone at the finish line in Yenne. And two terrible days will follow...
Stage 11: Pontcharra > Pragelato 255 km Planimetria Altimetria Col de l'Iseran Col du Mont Cenis Col du Finestre Ultimi Chilometri
Back into business with the 2nd of the three Alpester stages. Three mountains will be climbed in the longest stage of the Tdf 12, the 1st is the historical Iseran, the 2nd is the Mont Cenis who will make the race get to Italy to climb the Col du Finestre. The arrive won't be in Sestriere like in the Tour of Italy but will be in Pragelato. Hard stage but won't be the queen stage... for that, riders'll have to wait the day after. One minor request...can we get a Vuelta variant at some point? Thanks!
P.S. I agree with the comment that you, emmea, are my favorite stagemaker...of course, my favorite variant of the bunch is your less-favorite TdF one, but that's another story.
