It cost him much more than 6 seconds, because he then got stuck in traffic when he would have been in free air.
I dont know if he would have then been able to close the gap as he was doing before, but he would have had newer tyres so most likely would then have been closing the gap - and we would then see how Rosberg would handle a little bit of pressure late on.
Rosberg would still probably have won, but we never got the chance to see

Anyone else noticed that Massa is the only driver not on one of the new 2011 teams to have zero points:
18 Felipe Massa Ferrari 0
19 Timo Glock Marussia-Cosworth 0
20 Charles Pic Marussia-Cosworth 0
21 Vitaly Petrov Caterham-Renault 0
22 Heikki Kovalainen Caterham-Renault 0
23 Narain Karthikeyan HRT-Cosworth 0
24 Pedro de la Rosa HRT-Cosworth 0 |

While I'm generally more bored by F1 than I used to be, I do still enjoy seeing Schumacher fail race after race (although it wasn't his fault today) |

Nice race, the last 10 or so laps were amazing with all the fight with crappy tyres. Happy for Nico too, top driver who finally gets his first, well deserved victory.

Ferrari have to get rid of Massa after season's end
he just hasn't been the same since his accident
and Perez is showing far more promise (logical choice, part of their development program) |

Great race yesterday and pleased for Rosberg - brilliant performance over the weekend by him. Mercedes really sorted out their tires problems then, in dramatic fashion. They went from having the worst tire degradation of the top 9 teams in Melbourne to possibly the best. That's probably the first of several wins this season for Merc then.
Compared to the horror show of a season that was 2011 (excluding a few races) this is fantastic entertainment. I guess things are likely to start changing dramatically when we get to Europe, but for now this season is great fun. It's always funny to hear the podium drivers chatting away after the race like they were just playing a video game too |

Bright side at Williams : Maldonado. Though our commentators are genuinely stupid : "he must feel so much pressure right now, I/we hope he doesn't do a blunder, he's never been in such a position before". It's just about driving his car, he's won several races in minor series, and has a car that works well. Are they making it such a great deal for entertainment purposes ?
Dark side at Williams : Senna's caused some more car damages again, not necessarily 100 % his fault, but that happens often. Wouldn't he be called Senna, he'd be have been an average GP2 driver at his peak.

Things are pretty random this season. Not long now to see one of the HRT's winning. |

Not necessarily 100 % his fault? More like not necessarily 100 % Schumacher fault.

This time last year, I was already bored of Vettel winning every race, so I rarely tuned in. This year, I've watched every race, I'm pretty sure.

I'm really happy to see a Williams win again. Always liked that team since I started watching F1 with Jacques Villeneuve winning the Championship despite Schumi's dirty attempt.

He (Senna) was sliding to the right (inside curve 1), so Schumi figured he could pass on the left (which is a better position there, regarding turn 2), then when Schumi was closing on him, he moved to the left again, and with his superior speed Schumi had nowhere to go but in Senna's butt.
Anyway, when I saw Schumi out, knowing he was fighting with Senna, after what happened between Senna and Grosjean one lap (was it two ?) earlier, I was 100 % certain that Senna was involved somehow. Which he was.
His past in F1 and the year he spent in endurance racing are enough to make my mind about him, he's reckless, impatient and awkward. A cars breaker if there's one. |
