Looking at the competition here and the huge group making it together on stage 2, Pozzato in 22nd is pretty satisfying. I would have expected him around 30th. Two things is too bad though. Either the 2nd stage should've caused a serious break, where Pozzato could've gotten a good position, perhaps enough for top 10. But that didn't happen, and it leads to too bad no. 2 - Tim Dees got his chance here to make a good result. Unlucky for us, he was in the 4 man group just behind the split meaning he lost 1'03 on the stage. Deducting those seconds he would have been overall 11th, and thus making this a decent race for us.
Congrats to Pendleton's who have settled into the Protour well, doing in part what I felt they did so well last year in the CTour going into every race with a good chance of doing something. Which I suppose I am trying to copy with Jayco Red Bull this year.
The Dave Zee plan hasn't always worked out for Pendleton's but he showed his class in devestating fashion here - you have to ask where was his perennial rival Rogers?
That said looking at a lot of teams here, this proved a very hard race to work out but I guess it was a three stager so worth a punt with either a strong punchaer or a strong chrono man (or in some cases both).

Rogers was not here because I thought the gaps on the hilly stage would have been greater than the gaps in the TT. The climb looked long and hard enough for the MO ability to play apart. With the nationality bonus - that's why I went for Abal. Unfortunately, I was wrong.....
