Normally i'd moan at the "cancelling" due to weather, but i was looking at some images and it's pretty rough out there. Sizable winds, lots of dust and hot. I wouldn't want to be out there in any capacity so i give the peloton a pass on this one.
Times up well with an Inring article from earlier in the week about adverse weather protocol

Definitely a good decision to cancel the race.
Already in the first kilometers there were several punctures due to the hot roads.

Yeah, carbon tubulars and heat buildup really, really don't mesh. I'm not surprised they called the race off, I'm surprised it didn't happen when the team mechanics told the DS's not too even go to the start... |

Yesterday's TTT. Result doesn't count for the GC. The start was 2 hours later because the plane to Port Gentil was delayed. They had to start at 21:30 and race in the dark.
And today Hutarovich makes it two in a row (sort of).

Did Contador just lose the GC by 1s? |

Yup. Contador was blown like we saw in 2013

I agree with the decision to cancel Oman, but it is a shame that the last selective stage didn't get to be raced.
Meanwhile, in AndalucÃa...
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Kennaugh made me proud earlier on in the climb, but then I lost all hope when I saw Froome go. Still a win-win situation at the end of the day anyway.

Nico Roche was an amazing domestique for Froome, but sad to see he's behind Kennaugh and Nieve in the order on the sky train. Quite a race from Froome though, he really did kill Contador when he went.

So I guess the overreading into the race is that Contador is stronger overall, but the Sky train is so perfect at launching Froome that when it's running he's the favorite.
Or we can say it's still February, Froome may have saved something yesterday, and everyone being a bit out of shape means that there are bigger day to day form fluctuations and recovery. |

From Tour of Oman this morning, riders discussing how best to proceed.

Some nice hair dye from Cancellara. Guess he's decided he needs some EPO to help him catch Boonen and De Vlaeminck... |

I hope Quintana buries Contador and Froome on the Tour.
The Sky train was bloody good today. God, I feel sad seeing Nieve racing for them.. |

Not just Nieve. This year even Konig and Viviani. Sky wants us to hate them all. Thank god Nibbles never ended up there. |

I told you Froome.exe looked better on friday and today it was just confirmed, Bertie on friday just had a headstart thanks for his team doing work. Today they got overpowered by Skyborgs.
I think it's good for Bertie not to be in his good form yet, if he was then it would be bad for his Giro-Tour double plans. |
