Still 3 OPQS riders finished above Sagan. and that means what? Sagan was not good today, but i am talking about anyone else now :-)
That means it's not the biggest fuck up in history when Sagan came off worse. |

Yes OPQS only job was to finish ahead of Sagan and not win. They will be proud having done that.
On the other note feel sad for Sagan, curse of having a great sprint in him. |

Tramadol is a painkiller that is not banned by UCI/WADA.
It doesn't improve performance, but it makes the riders suffer less. Hence its use in the classics.
Problem: it also decreases a person's reflexes and response time
The result: more crashes.

Interesting read. it's funny Lotto's team doctor says that coz today Lotto riders were involved in almost every crash. |

Hopefully BMC took well notice of that and they will back him up more in the future. I always had the feeling that Van Avermaet is good enough until Gilbert shows up, and GVA deserves definitely more support.
Interstingly, last year he was named the "most versatile classics rider in current cycling" based upon the best result in the 5 monuments by Irish Peloton (Article link, worth a read). It's merely a statistical comparison but together with his style of riding and attacking, it shows a little what a great, complete rider he is. He just needs that last big result to finally untie the knot I think.

That means it's not the biggest fuck up in history when Sagan came off worse. to have like five riders in leading group of around ten and only finished 4th as best is a fuckup. And i still wonder what Sagan has to do
with it? Some people here are getting sick here with putting everything in comparsion with sagan. He was not good and alone, he cant handle the monuments

My point is that he was 2nd top favourite after Cancellara hence you'd expect him to do much better than he did. OPQS lost it the moment no one followed Cancellara on Kwaremont (It wasn't even a strong attack by Cancellara he gained just about 10 secs at best), obviously 4th place is nowhere near good enough with strength of that team but some top favourite like Sagan can't even manage Top10. So it's not as bad as you make out. |

Ok, trying to gather what I've shouted at the tv today
- Devolder was good again, but some bad luck. Leukemans also good again. Shows again how Vacansoleil was horribly maanged.
- Way too many crashes. The painkillers are one cause, spectators the other. That being said, the stay on the road rule should be executed better. And those retard BMCs changing wheels after a blind turn, sometimes it's the riders fault as well.
- Cancellara very strong again, without a team, and definitely the smartest as well.
- Belkin disappointing, Vanmarcke deserves better support.
- Boeckx was just awesome
- Omega Fail, especialy Stybar is seriously overhyped. Terpstra should've been there instead of Vandenbergh. Boonen, not sure if it was the personal issues or just that he's too old. I'll decide after Roubaix
- Sagan has once again proven he's not a cobbler.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Cancellera won his first big classic at 26.
Sagan is 24 at the moment.

I agree. By far the best Kwaremont/Pater route edition

Really enjoyed the little bit I managed to catch of the race.
Whether people think it's smart or not it was great to see Vanmarcke and Van Avermaet taking pulls with Cancellara - to be fair they both have a good finish and coming into a sprint with Cancellara, even after so many tough km's, they must have felt they had a fighting chance. Plus they could sit up and just get caught by faster guys like Kristoff not to mention the pack...
After the misfortune of E3 Cancellara certainly caught some luck with those 2, who are almost always prepared to work, in the race winning break.
Also Inrng reckoned Vandenburgh had just been through a course of antibiotics, which makes his ride more impressive, especially given the likely stress and less rest with the arrival of a baby so recently.
Roll on Roubaix! |

We should also give credit to Cancellara. He has been working on his sprint. He is not the best, but he has proved he is good after long hard race. Like MSR this year, or Vuelta last year in stage when Tony Martins went is break and sprinters were all cooked and of course PR last year. |

My opinion:
- Fabian = legend, nuff said
- With Cancellara decreasing and Vanmarcke getting more experience, it's clear: Vanmarcke isn't overhyped and he will be THE guy to beat in the cobbled classics the coming years
- GVA rode a ballsy race today, he deserved that win so hard
- 4th is a very good result for Vandenbergh personally but OPQS failed hard today. Vandenbergh is as slow as brick in a sprint. He should be the guy to chase attackers, not the one who has to go with them.
- Sagan does seem to be less in form than last year. It doesn't look like that monument will be served to him on a silver platter.
- TOO MANY crashes. Lesser riders need to know their place and spectators should be more carefull.
- Lotto-riders are either bewitched or they eat painkillers like candy, this much bad luck just isn't normal anymore.
- I hope that women makes it.
