But can I bring other riders into this argument who have pulled great results out of nowhere in the cycling world:
1. Peter Velits in 2010 at the Vuelta. He finishes 2nd in the Vuelta, beating Cancellara (who won the World ITT just weeks later, so much be on form at the Vuelta) in the final ITT in the process. Before then, what was his best result, as either a TT rider or a GC rider... 32nd on the Tour in 2009 and a few national u-23 titles before that...?
One would suppose that before you start to point at someone because of possible doping, you know what they achieved in their career.
Than you would know that Velits was the U-23 world champion in 2007, same year he was 18th at criterium Internacional and 9th at Bayern Rundfarth where he won the young rider competition.
In 2008 he showed himself nicely at the Tour and in other stage races also.
In 2009 he was 10th at MSR, 25th at AGR, 12th overall at Tour de Suisse, 4th at San Sebastian and had 3 top 10s at the Tour de France stages.
Than we all know how 2010 Vuelta went. He was in great form, starting field was shite and road suited him in perfection. And he is maybe one of the best in 3rd week TTs, great recuperation which he has shown at Alpe d Huez also in 2011 when he finished 3rd, apart from his another four top 10 finishes that TdF, including 8th position in final TT.
So as you see nothing from even far comparable to Froome, who has won something only in Africa ,beating Xi Xao only there
I will not comment to the other riders you mentioned, the others did that enough. Only Cobo i consider doper, with his past and quick rebirth...

Peter Velits isn't out of nowhere like Froome. As Avin mentioned he was U-23 champion he was talented and had his form of his life for Vuelta 2010, i hope he can find some of that Vuelta form in the alps for OPQS

Are you all kidding me? A thread about Sky and doping because they're currently owning TDF? Really?

Completely understandable for me. Especially as the discussions would "ruin" every stage thread.

Yeah, there can't be any other explanation, it's not just an amazingly strong team with great riders and a lot of money, no, definitely doping... |

So you can explain how Chris Froome went from an average domestique who's best performance was in some random African race, to best climber in the Tour? His story is almost identical to Armstrong's in terms of excuses from fanboys.
And Ian, you're not one to talk about making pointless threads.

How long you follow cycling if i may ask? If long enough, i hope you remember all these teams with great riders/training methods and lot of money like T-Mobile, Festina, Us Postal, Astana, they did also have nothing to do with doping right?

Armstrong depends on when you think he did start to dope (i know he did)
People always seem to forget he was a prior tour stage winner and world champion before he got cancer.
My friend had cancer a few years ago, he is a cyclist. Armstrong said the muscle came back in a different way, this happened to my friedn. He used to only sprint, but now he drops me on climbs and im built like a twig

So you believe that Armstrong never doped?! Even baseballlover312 has admitted it!
Edit: shit sorry I missed your first comment.

i said he did (and at numerous other times), i was just asking when, was it his sudden rise as a GC contender or during his one-day career pre-cancer

Look at how Wiggins body looks, how this skeleton can be the overwhelming best time-trialist?

Next time somebody calls me skinny and tells me I must miss strength to do endurance sports I'll show them the picture.
Seriously, any anorexic looks obese next to Wiggo. Aicar about his health. |
