After a season with Honda which hardly went well, plus midseasons with Red Bull and Mclaren (2nd in the championship) i managed to join a public game with Ferrari.
Next race coming up has greasy conditions, and Im unsure whether to start in Slicks or Intermediates. Anyone got any tips?
Slicks, but on the other hand, you can gamble and start on intermediate and hope for light rain.

I want to forget Sepang. Awful setup because I wasn't able to connect (I was moving to Lille). And then, for the feature race, 1st practice lap, 55 exp. level and I crashed. No info, no more practice laps. Oliveira should be leading. It's a pity he was so unlucky. |

Again crashed with 55 exp. level. At least I could do 4 practice laps, but I guess I've been pretty unlucky lastly. |

You were unlucky too.
It is being a good fight in front. Nonsense is coming! |

I'm a little dissappointed with the Sepang feature. I had the best setup and it was my home race, but I could only manage 4th. |

You're still an Academy Level user so in F1 the cars are pretty much all the same. With a Red Bull I'm going to finish 2nd (just one race to go, 17 points ahead of 3rd) and I crashed out of 4 races, so, you see, the car means nothing.

No I don't. He's a newbie and judging by his practice times hasn't worked out how to load his team mate's setup yet
EDIT: Oh wait...he actually has done a few races. I was obviously looking at someone else. Strange practice laps though

That is not so true. I've raced a Toro Rosso in Academy and even having quite better setups than most of the other guys, usually McLaren, BMW and Ferrari rule. Actually, I won a race, but having 100% setup, 1st place after the 1st lap and a bulky Ferrari, who was 2nd but with a horrible setup, slowing the race behind him for quite a few laps. |

This is the team classification from my first championship ever (the one where I'm getting 2nd place). As you can see, the car means very little:
(1) BMW Sauber
(2) Red Bull
(3) Renault
(4) Ferrari
(5) McLaren
(6) Williams
(7) Force India
(8) Toyota
(9) Honda
(10) Toro Rosso
(11) Super Aguri
In one of my mid-season games the guy leading is in a Super Aguri.

Sorry, p3druh, but according to your list, you're just confirming what I've said. There is not a single crappy car in the first 6 places. And yes, the difference between cars isn't so huge, but high enough to give McLarens, Renaults, BMWs and Ferraris a nice advantage. |

Curious...the top-4 teams from that list are in the same order than in my public game classification.

Not at all. Force India is 4 points behind McLaren and 10 behind Ferrari. Red Bull and BMW aren't exactly top teams. And like I said, with a car like Force India you can get wins at a Academy level (the fact that they have the 1st and 4th placed riders in another game is an example). Sure, the car does have some effect, but it's nothing that a little bit of skill can't overpower.

I think we have the same opinion but with different words. Yes, differences aren't so great. Actually, I'm holding a lovely 5th, 6 points away from leadership after 6 races and driving a Toro Rosso, which isn't so great. But BMW ais a great team, anyways, 3rd in performances and highest reliability according to the car comparison of the game. |

The Car Comparison stats change from game to game. I just checked to make sure and in one of my games Super Aguri is a better car than McLaren. I'm sure that doesn't happen in all games.
But yes, I think we can agree that the car makes a difference, a small one albeit.

EDIT: Holding a lovely 1st. |
