Quite a start from Kelderman, that kid is just so talented, but I did definitely not see this one coming. Does anybody know if the wind direction has changed? |

Even if it did change, he's still doing better than some reputated TT-ers who start in the same time bracket as Kelderman.
So regardless of wind he is doing extremely well. didn't see it coming either |

Indeed, let's hope he can keep this up, although I doubt it slightly. But still amazing at 2nd time split, looking very good for Kelderman today.
Jurgen with very impressive time at 1nd split too. 3rd now with 20:54

Yeah, that wasn't why I asked about the wind. Kelderman's ride so far is simply superb. I'm wondering about the wind thinking of those who's about to start now. If it has started to turn, it might be brilliant conditions for the late starters, and Boasson Hagen said he had sidewind/tailwind, with the reporter for Norwegian TV2 saying it was "pure" sidewind before the stage started. |

Not bad by Menchov. Would be nice to see him competing Le Tour.

Mmmm, Which part of the TDF is he going to recon now, once he pulls out of this race
Meanwhile, even RSNT's Kim Andersen says the knee "problem" is a crap excuse.

Kelderman is going great. At this rate he will definetly beat Durbridge's time.
And Amador is apparently doing really well too.

I appeciate he's fallen today (though reportedly not badly) and there may be an element of smokescreen about all this public media stuff but again this seems a case of not really caring for anything outside of mountain riding in the month of July (excluding the odd Ardennes performance).
He does have a disadvantage in his physical form when it comes to getting aero but, even given this, doesn't appear to improve as if he ever worked significantly on the TT. Also despite all the obvious talent he doesn't ride for the rest of the year. This attitude is disappointing for many and exacerbated by the odd childish or aloof comment he makes on camera.
I expect him to attack and test himself in the mountains here but wish he would do so much more during the course of the season. He might look back in 10 years time and regret some of this...though I doubt he'd ever admit it

Sky collectively peaking here in ominous fashion, though deploying all the talent effectively is another matter. I'm gonna stick my neck out and say they will do well in the team competition here |

Taaramae could have done better than that.

Nice to see Rogers and Froome back in form after various trials and tribulations.
Van Den Broeck will be encouraged by that time too. |

Nibali nearly 2 and a half minutes down on Rogers at the finish. |

Bad time trial by Nibali. That's 4 minutes in the Tour |
