Final stage, 14,4km long flat individual time trial, will definitively determine winner of Giro. The quetion of the day is: can Stefano Garzelli beat Franco Pellizotti for more then 18 seconds?

ITT world champion Bert Grabsch set best time for long time, 13th +49
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-1.jpg

Koos Moerenhout was faster by 10 seconds, 7th +39
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-2.jpg

Pinotti with same time, 8th +39
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-3.jpg

David Millar rode well and became new provisional leader for a while, 5th +31

Main favourite David Zabriskie couldn´t be satisfied with his performance, 12th +47

Franco Pellizotti on same place was 8th and one second faster...he will defend his jersey for sure.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-7.jpg

Great ride by Maxime Monfort, 3rd place today and 10th overall! +18
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-8.jpg

Marzio Bruseghin, winner of Rome´s time trial! Great performance and 2nd stage win for Italian veteran!
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-9.jpg

Luis Leon Sanchez was only man whou could threat Marzio today. 2nd place today and +8 loss secured 4rd place overall before Basso!
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-9a.jpg

Ivan Basso, 4th man today +30 behind winner. He is probably disappointed with his overall performance here, but his main job wasn´t to win here...
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-9b.jpg

Igor Anton, 32th +1'12...great Giro for Spaniard, his 3rd place overall is one of biggest surprises.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-9c.jpg

Stefano Garzelli fought bravely and finished 6th today, 36 seconds behind winner.

Franco Pellizotti celebrates his win...
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-9f.jpg

Stefano Garzelli was beaten by minimal difference of 11 seconds, but won Maglia ciclamino! Definitely great race for our captain and whole team!!!
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-9g.jpg

Gibo Simoni was king of mountains and gained Maglia verde.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/31052009-9h.jpg

Best youn rider Jakob Fuglsang in Maglia bianca. Our talented Francesco Masciarelli won a stage and finished as 2nd best young rider!

Giro, our season peak, is over. According to your comments, I´m glad you were enjoying reading. What next? As season 2010 has just began IRL, I want to finish my season as soon as possible, which means I´ll report only some races - I don´t want to annoy you with small unimportant and uninteresting continental races after thrilling Giro Wink

Yeah! Very good performance by Garza! 11 seconds is a matter of bad luck. But I think it was his last chance to win a Giro, you should look for another contender for next year

agrrrr... Garza was so close! Shock And there's no doubt about Garzelli and italian national wc team Smile

brownwm
you were so close there, unlucky,
maybe masciarelli can go for it next year if garzelli gets to old

Well winning with only 11 seconds would also be realistic! A shame he didn't win, maybe Le Tour Wink

Bosskardo
I think Garzelli winning wouldn't have been very unrealistic.
Too bad you couldn't.

thanks for all comments!

to Maximka & brownwm: who knows what will happen next season?...

to Kiein: next reported race should be Tour de Slovenie

to I_Mayo: yes, WC RR could be interesting Smile

to wacko & Bosskardo & Tombola: well, I don´t mind that I couldn´t win with Garzelli...much more important thing for me is if you enjoyed whole race Wink THAT´s the principle of my writing.

to Tombola: I´m sorry, but I won´t participate in Le Tour

Stefano Garzelli collected another nice results after fantastic Giro, finishing 2nd on Marco Pantani Memorial and winning Tour de Beauce in Canada. He had to join Slovenian tour too, but he is really very tired and I´ve decided it will be better to send him on holidays. So Francesco Failli will be our leader here. Race contains two hard mountain stages, especially Vrsic (stage 1) and Krvavec (final climb in stage 3), both will test strenght of field. Main contenders are Pozzovivo (hope he will show himself in better shape than last month), Niemiec, maybe Sinkewitz and....Failli (at leat I hope)

Nice start. Good luck, But I don't think you need it, it will be easy whit only Basso, Pelizoti, Gimoni and Sanchez.[quote/]

thanks...Pellizotti and Basso are clear #1 and #2...but if I want to reach podium, I must defeat some more strong riders, not only Gibo and LLS...and don´t forget that Caisse has much stronger team[quote/]
