First medal for Denmark today, silver in Skeet great. So far a really really good day for Denmark, i think all (at least almost) our atlethes today won and some of them are heading towards a medal. Hope it will go like this all day long with Michael Maze, handball and badminton in action later

They are.
They just originate from other countries, like almost every one's grand-grand-parents if look back far enough. |

They're as Germans as Förstemann, but the fact that he's of Greek origins is kinda ironic.

Even if you do say that people originating from other countries aren't actual compatriots - there really aren't many German athletes on whom that would apply, if I see that correctly.

Yeah, he has the name because german speaking countries occupied CR almost for 400 years. As i said, can we leave the topic? I dont want to offend someone (sorry to whom i did).

If we are being honest, then everyone is either African or a fish...
Which is fine for the swimmers

He's not a Polish playing for Germany, he's a guy with both Polish and German citizenship who decided to play for Germany.
If you'd issue a rule excluding such people from national selections, and say, all their lineage, probably there wouldn't be too many people taking part in O.G.
After all, there's no real Brit either, they're all issued from Celts or Saxons, who were continentals, when they're not issued from a more recent immigration. |

Now, now, you're pushing genetic doping a bit far. |

In Northern Ireland we have athletes representing Britain and others representing Ireland. It's now irrelevant about our ancestry. Also there's a woman Na Liu representing Britain in table tennis. She moved to Northern Ireland in 2001. |

I think 90% of table tennis players are Chinese. Incidentally, one of the Spanish/Chinese tennis players is called "Juanito" by the Spanish media. The last Spanish athlete with double citizenship to be called "Juanito" was Johann Mühlegg.
