Not sure if you guys have heard it, but ex Germany player Thomas Hitzlsperger has stated that he's gay, being the first "big", though retired, pro to do so, at least in Germany. I'm actually rather surprised, but i think it's probably good for the sport, though i don't think it'll make a huge difference.

I think it would have been better to do it during his active career. I can fully understand the delay though, as there seems some sort of taboo.

Hardly surprising that he announces it after he has finished playing. But i wonder who will be the first cyclist to come out of the closet though |

I'm an absolute Barca fan boy, but none of the Barca players should be in that team. Especially Alves is a joke. Ramos as well, though, while we're at it. Living from former glory. Switch Xavi and Iniesta with Schweinsteiger and Reus/Gündogan. Dante, Boateng or Alaba (and probably Hummels or even Subotic as well) all played better than Ramos or Alves, and that's just the Bundesliga players.

Anyone watching the gala through Eurosport? The commentator's translation is an absolute joke, the guy's completely making up things as the brazilians speakers talk! I'm having a blast

The FIFA is a laughing stock... So basically a team that gets beaten in 2 games with 7:0 is better than a team getting the treble the Supercup and Club World Championship
And Ronaldo a striker for gods sake he is a midfield winger.

Alves is not the worst tough. Alaba of course is a better choice. You gotta love tough how Ramos is there. |

World XI and almost every FIFA Award is an absolute joke. Barcelona and Madrid last year were thrashed by German teams. I still believe that Messi is completely over rated, a lot of his goals are from about as close to the goal as possible. A good attacking player is one who gets a lot of asists andscores goals when they are needed and from difficult positions. A striker (talking generally) is not good if he scores a hatrick in a game that his team wins 5-0.
And that Sturridge goal was not a contender for goal of the season. He missed from One metre, was lucky the ball didnt go out and then pretty much tapped the ball past a confused goalkeeper who had already let in 4 goals during the game.
