Go Menchov. Menchov is long over due for another Grand Tour success . On the way he is riding in the Giro I would pick him as one favourites for the Tour. Fingers crossed.
Yeah Menchov is the ideal GC winner
someone who's already shown he's physically able to do it and who doesn't spread bullshit around all his success!
If he wins everyone will be happy

hope Menchov will perform the same as on Alpe di Siusi
that was a real mountain finish not like this one
Alpe di Siusi:
Tomorrow:

I know...but on alpe di Siusi he showed that Di Luca can be beaten in a uphill sprint |

Maybe stage 18? And stage 20 suits Boasson quite good, but it's not going to be a big mass sprint, probably a puncher's stage. But I do think at least stage 18 is a sprint finish..
Breakaway wins by a truckload of minutes
Yep, but I guess Hagen will try and be in that breakaway. |

Partly agree - partly because it's also perfectly suited for a breakaway |

Nah, the climbs are too long and there's too much flat, especially towards the finish.
Also, Di Luca will definitely want the bonus seconds.
And finally, a win on the San Luca climb is too prestigious for a break to be allowed.
So the chances are slim.

I think Columbia will work for Boasson on that stage, because then Rogers will be way back in the overall, and they will work for the point jersey. And Quick Step might help them too, if Davis still is in it... |

For one single team to work for a bunch sprint, especially on a stage with that profile, the team would have to kill itself. Which, considering the fact that Rogers' goal coming into this Giro was a top 10 which he should easily achieve, looks insane.
Even more insane if you're working for a guy who isn't in the top10 fastest guys in the peloton.
And even if they were to try, this isn't stage 1 or 2. It'll be stage 18. they'd have no chance.
The slim chance of a bunch sprint is if at least 3 teams want the sprint. And even then, it'll be unlikely because the breakaway will probably have quite a few riders.

Okeyokey... I know when I'm beaten, but still, I think that Boasson will do very well on that stage
But I'm going to be the first to admit I was wrong if I will be wrong, but I'm also going to be the first to point that he did well if he does |

What I am wondering about is what kind of rider Boasson Hagen is going to be. Cavendish said he was one of, if not the biggest talent in cycling but for sprint, classics or anything?

Sean Kelly said "Right now boasson Hagen is the new Voigt (breakaway rider) but with a bit of extra speed which really comes in useful"

I think Boasson will be a Jens Voigt type of a rider in the GT's and Ardennes, but with the ability to win in the northern classics as well. But there's still a long way to go
Edit: didnt see the post over me

yeah but tomorrow ends with a short climb/hill not a real climb, where Di Luca is better than the others He was beaten because that was a harder climb

Do you think Di Luca can ride for example Vesuvio with Basso, Sastre and Menchov?....I hope it'll be too long and hard for him |

Monday's stage is much less to Di Luca's characteristics than any other.
The Vesuvio isn't long or steep.

Well i think Di Luca will be able to win today, becuase i doesnt think the other favourite will try to attack becuase the big mountains are to soon at the stages to keep the lead all the way to the finish |

Did you ever try climb 1000m in 13 kilometres after 20 days of racing? :-P |
