Cavendish again..no problem. Petacchi has no legs..but admire how good Petacchi is for choosing posiion..he is all alone and this is not he's way to sprint..

Yup. Petacchi had to do two sprints. One to get get on Cavendish's wheel and another to the line. Yet he was still faster than Cavendish on the second sprint.
Clearly, if Petacchi had a train like Cavendish, results would be quite different.
As for Cavendish, fair play to him. 3 wins. One more than last year.

I didn't notice, but if it's the same as Haedo did to Petacchi, it's perfectly legal, and exactly what anyone would do.

No, he simply ran out of room today. Haedo's little flick at the end there probably messed up his timing. He still nearly got around Cav, but lacked the space to do it.
Unfortunate for Farrar, too. |

of course its okay. Pettachi couldnt go anywhere else. But farrar still had to brake not too crash. you dont want that in your sprint...

Farrar messed it for himself when he lost the wheel of his leadout man when Hagen left the front, if he had keept the wheel he'd be in a perfect position for a win.

as how I remember it, he couldnt do much about that. the columbia guys where moving up on the left, and then Dean moved left just in front of them, leaving no room for Farrar to follow him.
I could be wrong though. cus I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting someone. think there was another rider right of Dean as well but... possibly that guy and Hagen closed the gap after Dean so Farrar couldnt follow?
but either way, I think Farrar had bad luck this time. (not saying he'd have won though) |

Yeah, I had to go back and watch it again to see what happened to him too. By the time Hagen hit the front, both Garmin guys were done, and when Haedo's cronie (Goss maybe?) dropped him right behind Cav, Farrar got a bit skittish. He eventually got around him, but Pettachi came and he got sandwiched. Tough break for Garmin; they had the numbers in that leadout, but couldn't execute. |
